[ In other words: Yes. You forcibly kissed him right in front of her and then had the Onukata try to... try to do that to her. But then, he notices this Tsubaki has both of her hands. Well. Maybe she's from a different universe, after all. ]

[ He can't say he blames her, to be honest. Maybe he was just secretly hoping they'd learn to get along. He always felt kind of bad about Tsubaki, moreso than most of the other contestants in the survival game. She seemed less like a bad person at heart and more like Yuno, someone who just turned out bad for reasons beyond their control. ]

But mun said if you two app at the same time, you might even be roommates.

[ Oh Tsubaki, that's so much easier said than done when it comes to Yuno. Take it from her boyfriend. Learning how to handle her was a long, hard, painful process, and it's still not something he can do 100% of the time, as much as he does love her. ]

[ He's fairly certain their Future Diaries will work, there, but he doesn't know for sure. If they do... Yuno will know each and every time Tsubaki talks to him, which means he's going to have to work even harder than he thought to keep her calm. ]

... I know. But nobody deserves to go through what you had went through... or what Yuno did, for that mater. She can deny it all she wants, but you two really aren't that different. You were both betrayed by people you trusted, and your parents weren't there for you.

[ Only Yuno's mother was abusive and her father was a neglectful workaholic, and Tsubaki's were murdered. Well, Yuno's were too... just by Yuno herself instead of someone else. ]

I wish Yuno could see that.

[She closes her eyes for a moment, thinking about this. Was she like Yuno? Were they really...similar? As much as even Tsubaki herself didn't want to think about it, Yukiteru was probably right.]

I cannot speak for you, obviously, but out of anyone, it seems...you would be the person to help her see.

I want her to. But she has it in her head that I'm the only person she'll ever need, and vice-versa. Anyone else is unnecessary at best and a threat to our relationship at worst.

And you are the person who makes her happy. [ A pause. ]

I'm no expert on romance, frankly. The most advice I can give you is to use that completely swaying loyalty to get her where you want to get her, figuratively speaking.

[ He lowers his eyes when she says that. ]

I used her love and devotion once, Tsubaki. I don't want to do that to her again. All I want is to see her happy. Really happy, for once. She's so afraid of losing me again that she spends more of her time worrying about ways she'll lose than just enjoying her life.
