Kuzco is throwing a temper tantrum-- oh, what else is new?

Yyyeah, so... You're fired.

--What? Don't tell me I can't fire a mun! Of course I can FIRE a mun! I'm the emperor, which puts me, y'know... superior to you.

[He inspects a hoof for a moment, then glowers at his mun.]

Listen, lady, you haven't been giving me enough attention! I'm not one of those... boring, disposable people you just play once and throw away. I'm a muse for life, pal, and if you can't deal with that, I'm outta here!

I've got my bags packed and EV-ER-Y-THING. I'm totally not bluffing, you know!

[Though she's not speaking to Kuzco directly, her mutterings is MOST DEFINITELY loud enough for him to hear.]

He's bluffing.

[And that gets her a big ol' llama glare.]

Hey! I heard that, little person! [He shoves a suitcase at her with his snout.] See! [But as the suitcase topples over and falls open, it's distinctly... empty.]

[There's a moment when she just... stares at the suitcase. An awkward moment that is like realizing a dad's fly is down. Then she just busts out laughing.]

Well, that IS everything I'd expect a horse like you to have!!

[llamaface]

I'm a llama. Say it with me: LAW-MUH. A-And besides, that was completely the wrong suitcase!

[He scrambles over, closing it promptly and sitting on it.]

You know what, the guy who was supposed to pack my suitcase is fired.

A llama? What are those? And is it normal for llamas to have servants?

[She also peers closely at Kuzco's face. At first it's just to get a closer look at what this strange creature called a llama is supposed to be, but now that her eyes are looking into his she quirks her head curiously.]

[llamaface]

[Kuzco starts to answer, then stops when she starts leaning in. He cranes his head waaaay back until he's nearly tumbling over backwards off the suitcase.]

Hey, hey! What's with the invasion of my personal bubble?

[He scoots off the back of the suitcase with a small 'thud!' and clambors onto his hooves.]

What do you mean, what's a llama? You're looking at one! And for your information, I'm an emperor and I used to be human.

[She was getting there, actually. Kuzco just spoiled the ending for her.]

Yeah, I know.

[llamaface]

[Sorry, Lillet. He spoils everybody's fun. )8 It catches him a bit off guard, though.]

...huh? What do you mean you know?

You're under a spell. I could tell by looking into your face. Something was off, like my alchemy professor, Mr. Chartreuse. I'm guessing it's an alchemy formula, with maybe a little bit of sorcery thrown in to have the transformation stick.

[llamaface]

Wait, wait-- you're familiar with that kinda mumbo jumbo? [And then a metaphorical lightbulb dings above Kuzco's head, filling him with all kinds of enthusiasm.]

So that means you could change me back, right?

Yes, I'm studying it at the Tower of the Silver Star. I'm going to become a magician.

[She says this next part as dryly as possible, especially in the face of such enthusiasm.] And no, I can't.

[llamaface]

[But... But...]

--Why not?!

[magic101]

Two reasons. [She raises her fingers into the air.] The alchemy that's involved in the transmogrification of the human body is really complicated and not easily reversed. If I had a little bit of the original potion I might be able to get a start on it, but even then I don't think that would help me turn you back. And [lifts her second finger] the sorcery part also makes it complicated. In order for the spell to lift, you need to uncover the conditions of that spell.

Any "help" I try to provide you would only make things worse and make fixing you that much more difficult. And that's assuming I don't make a mistake in the preparation somewhere.

[...if he's still listening...]

[That is a lot of whining.] So leave. [Completely flat.]

[Mr. M-21, you have a girl giving your shoulder a tap.]

That's being a little harsh, don't you think?

[He turns at the tap, and blinks at her.

Then he lets out a short sigh] He doesn't have to shout. [It gave him a bit of a headache. Plus, he's sure shouting at your mun isn't going to solve anything.] And why do people want to stay ...?

[In any event, she is completely nonplussed that M-21 has to be a whole head taller than she is...]

Did he hurt your ears? I think he's probably going to whine a lot more, so maybe you should cover your ears. [She tries to give him an encouraging smile.] I think we are staying to see if he actually will shut up and because we're some of the few that can stand him right now.

Ah, no - I'm just very easily amused. XD;

[Heh, M-21's not going to notice - he regularly speaks/snarks with someone even shorter than that.]

If he continues he will. [He doesn't say anything for a second.] I'd hoped he'd shut up. [But if she thinks the llama's going to continue...

He snorts at that. Who says he's standing that noise right now?]

Oh he's not so bad. I've had worse. I get the feeling we're seeing how he normally handles problems. He'll probably only shut up when he gets what he wants.

In other words, he's having a tantrum.

My brothers would do this sometimes. But they really stopped once they got old enough. Four years old, usually.

...Jeez, M-21, use less words why don't you... orz

[Had...worse? He's having a hard time picturing how that could be worse.]

[He huffs, tilting his head slightly.] When he stays.

[He doesn't say anything to the rest of what she says, having no experience interacting with kids that young.]

Yeah, that seems to be what this is about. And since he's definitely older than four he's just coming across as selfish and childish.

[She pauses, giving M-21 a casual smile.] You don't have any siblings, do you.

[His lips twitch a little at that.

But at her question, M-21 stills, his expression blanking for a second before he glances down at her, appearing as if nothing had happened.] No. [That he knows of.

He's going to be eyeing her a little bit now, waiting to see what she says or asks next.]

I can tell. You turned away when I started talking about my younger brothers. It usually is the sign of an only child that doesn't understand what it's like to have siblings.

[smiles] Or I guess you'd be the youngest, I suppose that is a possibility too.

[He blinks at that, his tenseness seeping away. Huh. She read it from that...? Did he show other signs of his previous life without realising it?

He shifts the weight on his feet.] You have a lot of brothers...?

[That's what happens when you are big sis to a large family. You become observant of these sorts of things!]

Yup. I'm the oldest of six and the only girl.

[llamaface]

[It's the only way he knows to get his point across.]

I'm trying, pal. [Then follows a dramatic, burdened sigh.] But just like everyone else, she loves me so much, she can't bear to see me go.

[A flicker of a grimace. How could anyone want to be around him for more than five minutes?]

So the threatening was pointless.

Yeah, so? You got a problem with that, shorty?

[This is a first for him honestly, and he's from a videogame world where pretty much ANYTHING can happen.]
