There was no other way. I don't know....what I'm going to do, but I can't just let them die. Not when I have the power to save them. It's what Uncle Cluster would want me to do. I just...wish it hadn't come to this. I'm not Apocalypse, no matter how much Mr. Daken wants me to be.

But....what should I do? Daken is going to kill Headmaster Logan if I don't stop him. I can't...I can't do it if I don't wear his armor.

But...Mr. Farouk is making it so I can't access all of my powers! I...I don't know if I can beat him, and even if I can I...I don't want to kill him. I don't want to become what Daken wants me to. I...I don't know why you made me, and I don't know why you couldn't tell me where I came from, but I know that I can choose who I become. I'm not Apocalypse, and I never want to be.

I can't tell you how glad I am to hear that, Evan, truly. [A pause.] I only hope you remember all I taught you. As for the rest...I would have told you, in time.

It's...it's remembering what you taught me that's kept me going through all of this. I've got every reason to be angry, but...I know you had your reasons. If Apocalypse was anywhere near as bad as everything I've read about, I...can't blame you, you know? For wanting to make me better than that, I mean.

Thanks, Uncle Cluster. No matter what happens, I'll try to make you proud. Even if I have to put on that armor to save everyone, I won't let myself become what it symbolizes. You gave me the name "Genesis", and that's who I'll always be.

I...would have to kill someone, and become...Apocalypse. I...don't want any of it, but I don't have a choice.

No Quentin, I'm not. It doesn't matter how many times you say it, because I won't let it become true. Uncle Cluster called me "Genesis", and that's who I am!

You don't know that for sure. I know who Apocalypse was, and I know that that's who Daken wants me to become, but...all I want to do is save people. Uncle Cluster believes in me, so why can't you?

Because I've been in your shoes, Kid Apocalypse. I mean not exactly, but I was there trying to save people. Only now I know that was all a lie by the professor. Grown ups don't really mean it when try say you can save the world. Yeah, you can save it, but its just another way of saying that we can't change it.

The difference is...everyone already expects the worst from me. No one thinks I can save anyone. The way you talk to me is proof of that. I want to prove everyone wrong, but...Daken is making me choose between letting Headmaster Logan die, or killing him. Either way, someone is going to die, and I can't do anything to change that.

I...I can't. I tried to stop Mr. Creed once, but...I couldn't kill him, even when he was killing innocent people. I can't just let Headmaster Logan die, either. I can't help the way I am, Quentin. If people would give me a chance, they could see that I'm more than how I look, what I could be. No one pays any attention to what I am.

I pay attention. You're a kid with big shoes to fill either way, and the way I see it is that you've gotta think outside of the box. You let what others think of you control your choices and how you see yourself. You're limiting yourself here, Kid Apocalypse and that's a waste of good potential.

[Now that stops him in his tracks. Quentin was right, and Evan knew it. He knew that the very reason that Daken had put him into that situation was to force a difficult choice on him. One he wasn't prepared to make, but one he would have to make, whether he liked it or not. He didn't want to kill anyone, but he was being forced to, and the choice he made would affect him for the rest of his life. On one hand, Logan and the others had lied and lied and lied to him, wanting him to find his own way in the world, and on the other, Daken had forced some very uncomfortable truths on him, and was trying to force him to make up his mind. It was enough to break anyone, which brings him right back to where he started.]

You...you've got a point, Quentin. I feel...like Logan and the others are lying to me, but want me to do the right thing, and Daken told me the truth, and wants me to become like him. I just...I need to think.
