I have a ship to oversee. I don't have time to be dragged into whatever this is. And the giggling that seems to accompany it doesn't reassure me.

To be fair, sir, I'm sure she's giggling because she's enjoying spending time with you. But I can sympathize with being dragged places when you have work to do.

Spending time with me or figuring out how to torment me? I'm not clear on which.

But it is frustrating, the idea of being separated from my duties.

I might have a higher threshold than most.

I worry that that's an invitation for it to be tested.

From my experience with the patients I've had, I can attest to that being true, sir.

And if she tries, she and I are going to have words. No former patient of mine is going to be put through all that again.
