But what about all those people who line up for your autograph? They probably feel like they know you. They read your books and and they feel influenced and connected to you through what you write. And to you they are just masses of nameless people lining up to fork over their $19.95 for an autograph and two whole seconds of eye contact.

I mean... I know this isn't exactly the same. I guess after that whole Natalie Rhodes thing I'm a little paranoid. I don't want... fans.

Alright, I get what you mean. I deal with it by reminding myself that it's good-natured. Well, most of them are. If someone seems a bit more crazy than good-natured, I distance myself.

Well she keeps saying things like, "Oh, Kate, I want to be you when I grow up" and "Oh, Kate, you're so confident and commanding," blah blah blah. But believe me, with some of the things she has planned for me this month? I'm really not seeing it.

All I know is that right now? She's encouraging Castle to throw me a surprise birthday party. It's like she doesn't even know me.

But I guess compared to some of things I've heard she's done to some of the other girls she writes... It could be worse.
