I get that you're laid up and what little life you had before is pretty much completely gone for the time being, but you are obsessing. All you have watched for the last week is that... show and you need to get a grip. You're taking notes. You're over-analyzing every single thing I do. And I'm not even going to compare you to Castle; this is like Natalie Rhodes 2.0. It's creepy. I'm the one that's supposed to be in your brain, not the other way around, remember?

Okay, yeah, it's real cute we have the same nickname. It's real cute that we own the same shirt and drink the same kind of coffee. What's next, you gonna go get us those cutesy little "best friends forever" necklaces?

Fortunately most people don't want to get in my head. Though I'm, not sure why. It's such a fascinating place.

But what about all those people who line up for your autograph? They probably feel like they know you. They read your books and and they feel influenced and connected to you through what you write. And to you they are just masses of nameless people lining up to fork over their $19.95 for an autograph and two whole seconds of eye contact.

I mean... I know this isn't exactly the same. I guess after that whole Natalie Rhodes thing I'm a little paranoid. I don't want... fans.

Alright, I get what you mean. I deal with it by reminding myself that it's good-natured. Well, most of them are. If someone seems a bit more crazy than good-natured, I distance myself.

Hard to do that with your mun though.

Yeah, I'm figuring that out. Distancing myself from her is like trying to shake you all those years ago. And I think I have enough with one writer all over my life right now.

The little ones where it's two halves of the same heart are usually pretty cute. I've mostly seen them on twelve-year-olds but I think you two? Could probably pull it off.

Well she keeps saying things like, "Oh, Kate, I want to be you when I grow up" and "Oh, Kate, you're so confident and commanding," blah blah blah. But believe me, with some of the things she has planned for me this month? I'm really not seeing it.
