So where we goin'? Some far away land? I bet it's full of treasure, and magic, and all sorts of messed up monsters that need butt-kicking right? .....well at least I got the second part, sortof. One adventure is as good as any, an' you know I'm up for anything!

Besides, you're playing a pretty big jerk-wad in the city right now, so you could use a break from all that noise huh? With like- you know- hero junk.

Oh yeah, right... you're gonna wait 'till the fourth wall event is over or somethin'- ...by the looks of it things are pretty donked up over there right now anyway.

Kinda lame though m'lady! You're lettin' me miss out on a whole bunch of fun, but it's your call I guess!

Oh! Hey Susan. Yeah, no fun is really lame. But don't worry about it, I don't think I'll be stuck without fun things to do for too long, if my mun has anything to say about it at least. Sure this place I'm going is mad dangerous, but I'm used to that!

[ She smiles and pats his chest. ]

[He returns her smile and pats the back of her hand.]

No matter how dangerous things might get, I'll be able to stick through it. I haven't let anyone down yet have I?

[wizard_eyes]

You!

[Have a Gunter flying at your head.]

You gem thief!

Glob!!

[He barely has time to duck to avoid a Gunter-to-the-face, looking back up with a grimace.] Ice King!

Woah, what's your deal man!? I didn't thieve nothin'-!!

[...it takes Finn a moment, but then he remembers he and Jake's gem-raid that was induced by the Lich who he thought was Billy. Or...or might still be Billy, he still doesn't really understand what happened there.]

...oh wait. Ok maybe you are kinda right this time, but it was for a good reason! [He thought anyway.]

[wizard_eyes]

[Ice King tries throwing some frozen lightning bolts, but they quickly turn into puddles of water at Finn's feet.]

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE!?

[He pauses, all of the rage draining off his face in an instant.]

...Seriously, what happened? 'Cause I was up late that night wooing the ladies. [Insert eyebrow waggle. Of course what he means by that is writing more gender-bent fanfiction.]

[He lifts a foot and frowns.]

Uh...look Ice King, it's a long story, and I can't even begin to explain it to you right now as if I'd want to.

[More gender-bent fanfiction? It better not be starring him and Jake's gender-bends this time....not again. Cause that's just weird bro.]

[And cue just a lineface.]

It's not like we're going anywhere. So spill it.

[No, Fiona and Cake get a rest this time. This one will be starring Marshall Lee, the Vampire King. So sayeth the great Pendleton Ward.]

[As much of a donkus that the Ice King is, Finn knows that he's bound by his honor as a hero to at least explain why the heck he and Jake thought it was a good idea to steal his crown to get the gems out of it. So he sighs and quickly explains.]

Ok so like- I had this really funked up dream and the Lich was there, so I went to see Billy because he was in it too but he died or some drizz- and then Billy told me n' Jake to gather all these gems and stuff-

and we were supposed to put them in the Enchiridion but like- apparently Billy wasn't Billy but he was the Lich and it was all a trick?

[He raises a hand to run it weakly down the side of his face, still incredibly confused by what happened.]

Or...or something I-....something like that. Anyway, I can't get your crown back together because the Enchiridion turned into a portal and the Lich went through it and a bunch of messed up junk happened- [Sorry Finn! Your mun will be as confused as you are until your next episode airs at least.]

But uhhh.... you just won't be able to use your magic and powers and stuff for a while, right?

[wizard_eyes]

[As Finn talks, there's a strange change wash over the Ice King. With the crown fractured, and the gems of power removed, its hold over him weakens from time to time, allowing Simon Petrovich to come through. As such, have a nod of understanding. Yeah, weird, huh?]

I see. It's good to know that there are still children with hearts as pure as yours, Finn. I... I know this will sound odd coming from me, but... I'm sorry for all the trouble I've put you through.

[His eyes twitch as the moment of lucidity starts to pass. As such, he grabs Finn's shoulder and looks into his eyes with a look of desperation.] Promise me, Finn. Promise me you'll protect Marceline. Especially from me.

[And with that, his mind goes back to craziness.]

[What the lump? Finn can't help but stare at the Ice King for a moment, motionless as he grabs him and says these... quite out of character things, before he pulls away with a noise of confusion.

Did he just say his heart was pure??]

What, M-Marceline? .....Protect her....?

[He shakes his head a little.] I...I don't get why you'd even be asking about.....her....but I'm pretty sure she can take care of herself.

[wizard_eyes]

[Ice King stares blankly and blinks a few times.]

...Her who?

[humanhero]

You know. Marceline? You just asked me to...protect her from you or something.

[wizard_eyes]

[More blank stares.]

Why would I do that?

[A grin creeps into his face.]

Wait a second, I know what this is! You're too embarrassed to say it, but you really want to join the band Marceline and I started, don't ya? Gotta go through her, but I'd be happy to let ya in.

What?

No! That's not what I meant!

[At least he's back to normal, but he can't figure out what that was about just then. ..Maybe it was just the Ice King trying to mess with his brains a little. Yeah, that's probably what it was.]
