Missing me lately...?
Well, I can't say I'm not flattered. It's good to see you again. I'm glad we could catch up a little bit.
But, ah--
Sorry to say, I just don't think it's going to work out. How long has it been since we did this last?... And well, I know you have an awful lot of objections to how things have been going with me and mine lately. Believe me, I do too! But, well. If we were to work together again, you'd have to deal with that... are you really prepared to take up the burden?
I can't really recommend it, my friend. It hasn't exactly been pretty around here lately. You might be better off if you tried to stay away from our mess...it would be a shame if you got caught up in this whole war again and got yourself hurt.
You just go on, hm? We can go our separate ways again, and you can live your nice, quiet life. I wouldn't mind if you kept dropping by to share it with me from time to time, though. *brief laugh* Let's face it, living vicariously is the only way I'm ever going to have something like that again. I'd-- appreciate it.
Ah, before you go, though, I-- Thank you. It means a lot that you've been thinking of us all. No, really.
Don't worry, miss.
We'll pull through.

There's MORE than one of you?

Certainly not. The Chief Inspector and I unfailingly make time for our worship regardless of the condition of the war.
To that which is important enough, time can always be adjusted for.
[ He pauses, a flicker of uncertainty in that ever stern expression of his. ]
In fact, I do believe that if your sister absolutely needed for it to be yesterday again, you would neglect to even shut your eyes until it was done.
...Perhaps you simply need reminding that there are things, which while they are not strictly work, are still important to preserve.

Well, when it comes to Linali things are different, of course.
But I'm afraid in between everything else I just don't find time for stopping by the chapel much. *wryly* My faith isn't what I was hired for anyway, I can assure you.

[ And then Link stops himself, scowling faintly with his brow furrowed. ]
...at any rate, I've gone over your quarterly performance reports for the last five years and there appears to be a great deal of inefficiency in your typical workday. If were slightly less manic about your work, I'm sure you'd find your schedule as a whole far more palatable.
Now stop running your mouth to outsiders about the state of our organization.

And to be honest, I can just about promise you that the next time I tried to make my workday more efficient, another twenty emergencies would crop up that I'd have to run over and deal with. *shaking his head with a little groan* Really, Inspector, I promise I get plenty of busybodying from Miss Fay...
*pausing for a second then, something reluctantly warm in his expression as he chuckles a little, brow furrowed*
So there's no need to fret over me too much, all right?
belatedly zones right in on this...
[Someone is a little... behind the times.]

I've really missed you!

It's always good to see you. Always.
What have you been up to lately...? *cocking his head to one side a bit, with a curious look. Maybe the answer will help him get a better handle on what she knows already and what she doesn't.*

I'm... I've... [Deep breaths, Lenalee. Keep it together.] I'm fighting alongside everyone, like always. We're building a bright new future in a new place none of us had ever been to before.
[It's a vague answer, to be sure, but at least her bare ankles and short hair give some indicator of what she isn't saying aloud re: when she's from.]
no subject
Of course we will.
no subject
No question about it.

Even if things are rough right now, you'll surely pull through.
no subject
We will be just fine. It might take time, but I know we'll find a way.
*that's what he always has to tell himself, anyway -- he certainly wouldn't tell Lenalee anything less.*
no subject
Of course, of course, my mistake. With such conviction, how could I think anything else? Just don't push yourself too hard, brother.

[ never, never ever, ever. They're a dying breed, dear Komuis. Even if they are insufferably annoying (but necessary). Welcome back! ]

The young lady, on the other hand... I'd hate to see her get in over her head, but-- *pausing to grin again* Never fear, your Supervisor wouldn't leave you to toil on your own!
*Aw Bak, your tsun disguises nothing. And thanks.*
no subject
Where have you been anyway? Your mun has no excuse for keeping you [ locked up ] indisposed! [ although, in truth, he's half wondering if Komui didn't do that on purpose. He always was devious. Through and through.
... which meant he was going to have to start cleaning up Komui's
brilliantmesses again. siiiiiiiiiiiigh ]no subject
Someone has desperately missed her brother.
- her voice is a little muffled against his shoulder.]
Don't be so depressing, Komui.
