After being introduced to a few thoughts on Mayfield's inner workings...
...Mun, it's endgame. Things are finally about to wrap up and you choose now to drop this on me? I have enough problems to deal with thanks to Mayfield; I don't need existentialism on top of that.

We are in the same despairing boat.
[She hesitates, then hangs her head.]
We can't ignore it anymore, can we?
Sail away on the despar boat

What's existentialism?

Existentialism is the philosophical concept of finding your place in life and the universe through personal growth and experiences. For Dreamwidth games, it's most often used as a developmental point in a character's life when they're introduced to the idea that they're fictional creations of someone else.
It's complicated.

But why can't you find your place in life with that experience stuff even if you're fictional? Why does that matter?

I'm just as surprised as you are. I didn't think Mayfield would take this turn, but I think I finally understand what you went through in Ink City.
...I'm sorry about what happened.

As much as I'd like to believe the former, it gets harder to do so each day.

No matter what you are or where you come from, you're still you. Our births don't define us - it's what we do with our lives. [It's not the first time Zidane's had a self-identity crisis. Back on Gaia....if he was on there....he had a severe one. However, his friends helped him get through it and helped him realise who he really was as a person. However, whether that event is real or not, it did not matter. The point still stood, as far as he was concerned]

You're right. What we did to get where we are today is more important than how we started off. I think these muns sometimes forget that that everything they put us through is real for us, just as it would be real to them if they went through what we endure on a regular basis.
