...I'm trying to be. It's hard to transition from "my father couldn't care less" to "my father cared the entire time." I've spent the last twelve years of my life thinking that my sisters and I were just a problem for him. Thirteen in those games, because I'm older.

I can be grateful that he really loved us and wanted to protect me from the guy who wants me dead, but it'll be a long time before I can really forgive him for being a neglectful ass.
