If I am not there to protect her, the chances of her being injured or killed increase. Being confined to the tower makes it impossible for me to ensure her safety. Any threat she would face there could be dealt with efficiently.

Under normal circumstances, I'd say you're right. Assuming you have the capability to protect her, which we'll say you do for the sake of argument. But... Please forgive me, lady, I cannot express this properly. I'm a soldier, not a sage.

The... Original Shion would not be in anymore danger than usual, since they would remain where they are with the original you. But if there was another with you then she would be in potential danger, without changing the original's circumstances at all. So, if I'm right... It would be increasing the chances of a threat to the one you want to protect without benefit to anyone.
