I'm not gonna talk to you about not doing this thing you're thinking about doing, as I know it never works anyhow, but I do have some questions. You know you're having trouble thinking of just one animal soul dangling thingy for me to settle down as, well, you know, that makes perfect sense! Because being one thing forever is the thing that doesn't make any sense, I think.

I mean it's not like people just stop changing from being what they are after they hit twenty years, or fifteen years, or any number of years! That sounds depressing, in my opinion. And what about people who have a lot of different things going on inside them at once? They're complicated! Boiling that down into just one thing is tough. I'm surprised anybody manages to do it for anyone at all.

Hmm, it sounds like an interesting kind of place, though... but honestly I think I'd take a daemon, or whatever, over you messing with how things are at home. If you have to take me out someplace, can't you at least leave Edo alone?

Frankly, so do I, because then at least we would be getting somewhere. We'd have evidence, rather than the pointless ravings of a young woman who should see a psychologist for what may well be an anxiety disorder.

If you don't wonder what their motivations might be beyond just nicely setting people back in their homes I think you're stupid or way too naive about how people are sometimes or maybe both, but I hope for the sake of the people from your world who have nothing to do with you and your dumb frills that you are right, and that you aren't ruining all your lives while you go gadding around or doing whatever dumb thing you like to do when you aren't annoying people being dumb talking to them.

If you're actually concerned about what they might want then it's stupidly hypocritical of you to make fun of me for being concerned, so I'll put aside you being really callow and happily take on you being hypocritical instead.

What I am mocking - and please take note, it is mockery, not "making fun," as there is no fun truly involved - is your completely pointless, completely idle speculation that only gets you wound up. What, after all, is the first step in an investigation?

I have no idea, unfortunately whenever I have problems I have to figure things out as I go along rather than having a bunch of people teach me what to do. That would be so nice!

I don't think I lost the argument, or at very least, you made some paltry efforts that didn't convince me of anything at all! You're acting like I'm really ridiculous for being concerned, but you don't know much at all about who the people in charge of things are or what their motivations outside the obvious might be, so forgive me if I'm not convinced.
