[ She's quiet, for once, not needing to announce her presence like she normally might. Who needs words when all she needs to push down the worry plaguing her is to let her arms envelop Isaac from behind. Even if he is impossibly tall and she only reaches about ye high to his shoulders.
It's weird -- there's still so much left unanswered from that thing. But at least they can have this here? ]
He doesn't know how the future plays out beyond this, beyond the fact that his heart will stop at least once and he'll need a shock to get back, and that he needs to be saved again. He doesn't know if he's gonna go down willing, if he's going to be the same person he was when she and Boyd left, or if he's changed and he deserves this for screwing something up pretty bad.
But he knows he'd have wanted to have all of them back. Even for a bit longer. So he turns in the circle of her arms, presses his cheek against her hair, catches her waist loosely with an arm. ]
[ There's a wry smile on her face and she stares up at him for a second before burying her face in the hollow of his shoulder. The comment is only making her feel homesick and she takes in the lingering scent around Isaac, something that smells familiar and so very much like pack. She laughs softly, letting it be muffled because it doesn't feel like it should be something that's appropriate for the moment anyways. And then turning her face to the side so her cheek rests against his chest: ]
I guess we have to if we're ever going to save your butt.
[ Because what's the alternative? That if Isaac could have died -- or at least come close enough to it -- then what chance was there for her? The odds were already against her and Boyd. Isaac was supposed to be the safe one. ]
[ Funny how things turn out, huh? Nothing ever happens the way we expected them to, and even when we're trying to fix them, they just keep on being worse. At least you're alive. Isaac believes nothing else about you. You and Boyd, you made it out - that's all he could care about on the matter.
If he sighs a bit sadly, that's just the wind against your hair. ]
You don't even have to. Just come back, or something.
Okay, but why me? Even if I saw something it's not like I can do anything about it without Derek. I probably don't even know what I saw in the first place.
[ Stiles' expression is tight. After what he saw of Erica and Boyd, he almost expected one of them to die. Or Derek and Peter. Or himself. Not Isaac, who's pretty much stayed off the radar after his dad's death. ]
That's... maybe you don't stay dead. Or die again. Hopefully?
[Like hell it is. Some stranger had to jump start your heart via jumper cables... His jaw tightens and he shakes his head, almost to dismiss the question completely, but then he's answering regardless.]
I'm not sure. [Derek can't be sure of anything anymore. But the Alpha pack declared war against Derek's...why go all that trouble to help the enemy?]
But then why would they help us, right? What if they're trying to plant a spy and they had to—
[ Kill him. Then bring him back and befriend him, because it's no secret he's lost his entire family and his friends are down to two, and he's caught between two alphas - Derek and Scott - and he's a weakness more than an asset when he has very little marketable skills beyond stupid loyalty and blind faith.
You sure picked them well, Derek. This one takes after your less prettier traits. ]

What could be so bad that you'd need direct voltage to be woken back up. [ warily peering at this script... thing ]

I guess I can tick this off my bucket list.

And how come you're alone in that scene. Does this mean you get separated from Derek? [ Scott is not happy about this ]
no subject
I don't know. He has to have had a reason for not being there. He wouldn't actually leave me behind. [ Right? ]
Maybe they got to him too?
no subject
Yeah, maybe. [ He means about getting caught. Not about you getting left behind, Isaac.
For all that Derek is pushy and overbearing, the idea of the werewolf leaving Isaac behind seems out of character. ]
You don't think he got hurt, do you?
