Character is a Breton Champion of Cyrodiil. Thoughts on Skyrim.
Yes, I am quite sure that I'm not a Daedric prince. Does it really seem the kind of thing that would have slipped my notice? Mad gods say mad things, you would do well to pay them as much mind as they make sense.
[She says, making little mention of how completely forgetting about the Isles and being the madgod would be entirely in line with anyone's expectations of Sheogorath. The mun isn't saying for sure whether any of it actually happened for her.]
...I do wish the fate of the Blades was as untrue. Of the Empire. Of all of Tamriel, even. It's all certainly just as difficult to believe.

Which one?

[She's not going to send you on any quests, Dragonborn. You never do what she says anyway.]
no subject
That's ridiculous. Why would the Madgod want to be you when he could be other, entertaining, interesting people?

Or perhaps he is you and it's a punishment from one of his enemies.
[Not that he'd concede that she has a point.]

[Sorry, Elf, were you meaning to insult her by suggesting that she could play a part in making Daedra miserable? Because if so that has backfired spectacularly. Ruining Daedra's days is pretty much what she does. She shrugs, dismissing the whole thing. The last thing she wants to do is let Athanas know the whole business is actually terrifying to her.]
He is mad. He says mad things and they mean nothing at all.

...she settles for sounding about a dull and impersonal as a history textbook.]
Tamriel is- divided. At war, both between and within the provinces. The secessions began a year after Mehrunes Dagon was driven back and remain ongoing after two centuries. The Nine have become Eight, as worship of Talos has been made illegal within the Empire. And the Blades-
[To her credit, she manages to continue speaking entirely impersonally. Through gritted teeth.] -they would have had to fall to allow the Empire to be wounded so badly. It shouldn't have surprised me.

It is indeed a terrible fate - for everyone, in one way or another.

It's hard to see how everything could have gone so wrong. It's like the world's gone mad.

The high elves - it's all their doing.

She pauses at that - it's a dangerous way for her to start thinking as successor to Pelinal Whitestrake, a man who sought to destroy all Mer. But she's not going to deny anyone their anger, certainly not when they've lived through all of that.]
Not theirs alone. The Empire as I knew it would have crumbed before no-one. Something must have changed within it.

You have a point. Titus Mede II - he's the one who caved to the Thalmor - though if they had not started their crusade, it likely would not have come to this.

It never occurred to her that she'd be damning his soul. She can't even use maces.]
The Nine. [That makes her smile, at least. Perhaps all is not lost for Talos and his worshippers.] You've not turned your back on him yet, then.
He doesn't rule by divine right. No one ruler could, now. The Empire ought to be ruled by the Elder Council in the absence of an Emperor. That is the way things have always been.
[She manages to sound like a petulant child, saying that.]
no subject
Of course not - and I'm not going to let any of those damned Thalmor tell me otherwise. [She chuckles and grins.] Besides, if I didn't, the Nords would probably do worse to me than the Thalmor would.
Well - he's the Emperor now. Not a Septim, but the officially recognized emperor, for better or worse. So far, it's only been worse.

I wish it didn't cause so much strife, but I'm glad that people will fight to keep believing.
...I can't accept him as Emperor. There are laws. Customs. His ancestors ignored them and took the Empire by force. [There's a note of disgust in her voice. With herself, mostly. This would have happened in her lifetime.] And he has profited greatly from that.
[...and she's just going to ignore that Tiber Septim was as much a warlord as Titus Mede I. Biased, her?]
