(no subject)

The sisters had a saying that you may find useful, Mundane:

"From patience and great effort do all things worth having come."

It's without frills, but the meaning holds true. [A small, rueful smile.]

That said, if it is your duty as a student to do research, then you must do so without sparing me a second thought. To do one's duty is the highest good a person can do, and even a duty to complete one's thesis is no less worthy of dedication than is the safekeeping of a city.

You needn't worry for me. What I want is not yet within the reach of my hand, but I will work hard and do what I can to become worthy of it. It is your task to do the same.

Be well, and do good work.

Not sure I've ever used the words 'good' and 'work' in the same sentence before. I'm guessing you're not a servant?
