Not exactly where I thought I'd be today but a new experience can't be too bad, right. It's a little exciting to be so close to all of these ... these humans! I wonder what their fashion is like? Do they all have those wiggly toes? It's all so fascinating! Now that I'm here, do you have anywhere to put me?

No? I've never been so far from home before! You can't keep me hooked on your line for no reason! Your head is all wishy washy, it's like you took a spin in a whirlpool for a couple hours! Please just cut the line if I'll be splashing in this puddle forever.

Yeah... Well, there's also games where everyone is turned into a human, or just... stay human if that's how they started. And games like scorched, where you could probably get some kinda superpower to... I don't know. Fly through the air like it's water?

What is flying? Is that another human thing?

[sandwormie]

An air thing. It's... moving around without touching the ground, I guess? That makes it sounds so plain. Really it's exciting.

Can you fly? Oh! Can I show me? I'd love to see it!

[sandwormie]

Not on my own! I'm just human. But I can show with a glider!

[He has a toy. It's assembled from a kit and made of cloth and slender plastic spires, and when he throws it it loops and glides, slowing and stalling. Luke runs after it, manages to catch it before it hits the ground.]

That's not flying flying, but it's more than I can do alone.

Oh my gosh! [ She starts clapping her hands excitedly. ]

You're amazing! Truly amazing!

Aaah, well... [He's caught between being pleased and modesty. Kid was not raised to brag.] It's fun, anyway.

I wish I could fly! It looks like so much fun!

It is. It really is.

I never knew humans could fascinate me so much!

[ She awkwardly scoots herself a little closer. ]

I'm not even the most interesting person. I come from a really boring world, and I'm young enough I haven't done all that much. There are humans out there way more interesting than me.

Oh hush you. You're plenty interesting to me.

[sandwormie]

Um... uh... thanks? You're pretty interesting too?

I'd prefer fashionable but interesting could work too I suppose.

I don't know much about fashion. On Tatooine most clothes are really pale or one of a bunch of shades of brown. Colors don't really do well in the suns and with the dust and all. Also everyone has to cover up more than offworlders do. Otherwise you get sunstroke and wind scarring.

People on other planets wear some weird things, I've seen holo.

[ She makes a face at his descriptions. She isn't pleased to hear about such gross surroundings for this boy or his other humans. ]

Like ummmm... Aridus, it's sort of like Tatooine but only one star, and the humans there, they get to wear things like this.

[and now he has a datapad with an image. ...yes, he's gonna wear that when he's older. He has no fashion sense.]

Wh-what.... what is that monstrosity? Don't you ever wear that! Not only are those colors out of season, but it's just ... what

Oh c'mon! It's amazing! It's black! And yellow! And in stripes! And it's got this awesome fringe!

[ She snorts and gives him another look. ]

I hope all humans don't dress like that.

'Course not. Different people, different planets, different things.

Well that's good, because if everyone wore that up there I might have to cry a little.

Aw, why? It looks good to me.
