Have you made any new friends? [that's what kids are supposed to do right? and she's such a sweet kid. though he wouldn't be surprised if Heine is responsible for scaring any good prospects off.]

[tru fax. her face lights up for a second, and then falls just slightly. yeah she'd made a really good friend, a boy about her age, and she'd liked him a lot. heine hadn't even had the chance to threaten him with bodily harm before he'd disappeared, though. but there are plenty of others!! she puts on a smile again and nods.]

[alright, she's smiling so that's got to be a good thing right? he wracks his brain for something else to say. he likes nill, don't get him wrong, but sometimes it's difficult carrying on a mostly one sided conversation.]

Well that's good. Honestly I think it's good for you to meet people your own age. [Bishop and Heine really aren't the greatest mentor/friend figures.] How long have you been there anyways?

at the questions he holds up two fingers, not sure if he'll go for days, weeks, or months. the last one is what she's going for, but if he starts guessing, she'll just nod when he hits the right measurement.]

[Okay two...two what? He immediately discards days. Weeks is a little more possible, but he doubts it.]

[excellent, he's given her a choice. dave (not his dave, the dave she met on the ship) had a hard time with deciphering what she meant when she held fingers up. but he'd gotten the hang of it eventually. mostly. one finger, ding ding. two months, just about.]

[it's an excellent strategy because nill is never without her fingers. you just need to figure out how to round your answers down to the most likely few.]

Two months? That sure beats two years. Was Heine with ya from the start?

He came a month after you? [That's surprising. What with how protective he is of nill, badou figured he would have followed right after her immediately.]

[she nods, another gold star for badou. she agreed with his confusion, to be honest. it had been a shock, to be alone, without heine again. he'd been such a constant presence in her life for the past, well, since he'd saved her, that being without him had made her feel so empty. vulnerable, definitely.]

[badou could practically feel her mood go melancholy. he hadn't meant to make her feel bad. and heine would kill him if he made her cry.]

Cheer up Nill. He's with you now right? They couldn't keep you two apart for long.

[crying is pretty far down on her list right now, but who knows. it might move up in a split second. but she's alright for the moment. she nods, the smallest of smiles making its way to her lips. yes, they were together. she was pretty sure that some cosmic or heavenly force was keeping them together, which she was totally fine with.]
