Considering distantskies with an AU Sam

You can't be serious? You're going to create an AU account for the sole purpose of apping to this game and saying I'm married to General O'Neill?

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? And how against regulations that is?

[Sorry Sam, you won't be in the Air Force anymore.]

What?? No, absolutely not! My work is important, and so are my responsibilities to SG-1. I realize than Daniel is a civilian member with the team but I'm not sure they'd let me keep working as if I was still a member of the Air Force. Do you have any idea how long I worked to get to this point in my life?

No, of course you do. Or you wouldn't be so deliriously excited about this.

[Not that he has anything against the idea]

Kinda skipping a couple steps. Can't see you not being part of the Air Force.

[Cough. And avoid eye contact.] Yeah, married. She figures it would happen maybe two or three years after my fathers death.

[Neither does she really. Who knows if General Hammond or General Landry would see this. ~~This mun happens to know someone who plays Hammond.~~]

I can't either, I spent over twenty years in the Air Force.

[He moves closer, just in case anyone might overhear]

Yeeeah. That's...that's pretty close to what mine was figuring. That after Anubis we just...[He shrugged] y'know, stopped waiting. Then after the Ori thing...

[He rolled his eyes.]

Sounds stupid talking about it like this. Anyways, after that, I retired, we made it all official. Before then, nobody really cared. What with, y'know, saving the universe for a living. Call it a perk.

[He looked around again, just to be sure]

I, uh, popped the question at Christmas. Jut so you know. [Because, really, he's got a hard-to-access soft spot, but it's a mile wide under all the armour]

[She's liking this closer thing.]

After everything we'd done, I don't think they'd have dared try to court martial us.

[She smiles at the Christmas proposal.]

At Christmas, really? That's the best present I could hope for, for Christmas and my birthday.

There was a hat. [He shrugs] Food was pretty good, too. I cooked.

[He looks behind him for a moment]

Yeah, mine is giving me a push in your direction. Or more correctly a shove. He's a, and I quote, "big fan of the two of you".

[A slight pause]

Not that I mind the shove, given the direction...

You're definitely a better cook than I am, so I can't doubt that.

[Being shoved as well.]

Oh, she's a huge fan too.

I don't mind it either. It's a good direction.

Well, you could...I'd just have to prove it again, so you could manipulate me pretty well there.

[He bumps her, gently, with his shoulder]

Between you and me, it's...entirely too quiet without you around. I used to enjoy quiet, Sam. You've ruined me for quiet.

[Or, more correctly, redefined it.]

So. Call me crazy, but we seem to line up a bit more than I'd have thought...

[She looks mildly insulted but there's a smirk there.]

Ruined it, did I? I like to think I... livened it up. It's jsut a different kind of quiet.

Much better than I'd have thought too. I guess my dad was really onto something.

[He holds up a finger]

No, no, think you're missing the point there. Well, pretty sure. And he was, your dad.

I don't regret a second of it. Even if parts were...secret and quiet. It was worth it. You were worth it.

[He looks at her, as if reaching a decision]

And you are. Going to just avoid the past tense here, from now on. Hope you don't mind.

Jack... I don't regret anything either.

[Leaning against him comfortably.]

So, given all that...whaddaya say to...[He circles a hand in the air, looking for words] playing out all of this...stuff?

[He winces]

Not the best term. But you know that I mean. Not so good with the words. My, uh, 'player'...well, he's been looking for a Sam...

[Sam just grins a bit.] I'd say yes, definitely.

Looks like he's found one. My mun is pretty excited every time she spots a Jack.

[ooc: I'm looking at SirensPull for Sam, for the future app round, if ever you want to app him there.]

[He nods]

Yeah, but I get to do the fun stuff. By which I mean talk to you, interact with you, ask you out to dinner.

[He pauses, theatrically]

Speaking of, what do you say to a good steak, with wine?

((OOC: Was looking at Paradisa, but I'll go pretty much anywhere for a good fun time.))

[That grin widens a bit.]

Is it red wine?

[He may, casually, be putting an arm around her waist]

[She may be, casually, leaning against him.]

[And that means he's right close to her ear, so he's more whispering now. Ostensibly to not deafen her. But, well, that works on other levels, doesn't it?]
