Family history, really. My grandmothers abducted my grandfather, and... well, at fairs and barn raisings, women... Well, my sisters have fought the neighbors, sometimes.

My eldest sister might be the one inheriting my family's business, but that doesn't mean that my other siblings don't argue with her. Not me, I know better. But it does seem to work, in the end. I suppose it does for your people as well.

Possibly because men generally have short hair. At least, where she gets they played bys. It's considered more masculine.
