Anything can happen in an AU, right? Maybe we could've ended up winning that fight against Master Xehanort...but I can't pretend to know what your mun's planning for you.

Terra! I wish I knew where you really were. I woke up alone and reached for my Wayfinder, but I couldn't sense you or Aqua.

Everything's changed now. I'm still trying to get my head around everything that's happened.

I wish I could tell you what happened to Aqua, but I don't know. I can say that you don't want to know what happened to me, though.

So you're out on your own, huh? Any idea what you'll be doing in that game?

Yeah. Just me unless I meet up with Sora again. As for the game, I have no idea.

Even if I did, I doubt it would help; things didn't work out and I had to pay for it.

All I know is a lot of muns are interested in that place. Pretty sure it's something worse than the Unversed keeping that place going.

If Aqua's there, then she might be able to tell you more than I can. Things got dark after a while...

[Sorry he still has the hood up; it's a hard habit to break, when the only thing that keeps Heartless from swarming to your location is the masking properties of the coat.

A quick nod, and a pause as he considers what he should say. Why is this fourth-wall stuff always so difficult?] Your mun wants to send you to the Tower?

[Someone's clearly dodging the other subject.]

Yeah. She's been trying to get me there for a while so she woke me up.

What happened to you? [Guess who's not forgetting the other issue here.]

I see. It's not in the best shape right now; whole floors are still being repaired.

[Damn it, Ven. This pause is longer than the last one.] ... a lot of things. It's not something I like thinking about.

[And that other, younger Terra covered the start of it. The rest? No. Too much guilt associated with the rest of those memories.]

[He takes a step closer to his friend, reaching out but not touching.] Is there nothing I can help with?

[He's stiffening a little at the name 'Roxas'.] I... see. So you know about Organization XIII?

[Resignation; he'll explain things if he has to, but he really doesn't want to.] ... I can tell you what I know, but I'd rather not say it all at once. It's... a long, confusing story.

[Ven nods.] Yeah. Just bits and pieces. Haven't got it all figured out yet but I will.

[Another nod.] I'm not sure if my mind could handle it all at once anyway.

[You've probably found one of the few people that could tell you everything about Organization XIII.] I can help there, if you'd like.

[And there's a laugh; it's quick and quiet, but it's undeniably a laugh.] Probably not. It might take a week to cover the important stuff and let you have time to absorb it.

I'd like that. [Not right away though. He wants to see what he can figure out on his own first.]

A lot's happened since we met. And a lot more than just Sora knows by the sound of it.

Okay. [Good thing he'll have some time to prep for this particular discussion.

[He sounds almost bitter when he says that name.]

[There's a name Axel hasn't been called in awhile! He's not entirely amused by it.]

Sorry, kid. You've got the wrong guy. Name's Axel, got it memorized?

Now. What happened to Roxas?

Oh. I'm sorry, Axel. [Pauses] Then how do you know me?

[Another pause as he tries to remember that last memory of Roxas.]

Last thing I remember is him walking into Castle Oblivion looking for....someone. And then he collapsed and I woke up.

I've heard of you before. [Deliberately vague? Axel? No way.]

So you dreamed about some guy you've never met before, who happens to look just like you, collapsing inside Castle Oblivion... and then you woke up?

[Axel refuses to think that it could be a memory instead of a dream, because Roxas is supposed to be Sora's Nobody, not Ventus'. Although that would explain why Roxas looks just like him...]

And what's this about being inside Sora?

[Ven decided to answer the last question first.] 7

For the past ten years, that's where my heart has been. Inside Sora. You see, about fifteen years ago I was the apprentice to a man named Master Xehanort. You've probably heard of him. He split my heart in two so he could have a clash of pure light and pure darkness to forge the X-Blade and open Kingdom Hearts. And after four years of being apart, it worked. But I fought back and defeated the darkness inside me. But that meant my heart was broken and I needed help to repair it. I called out and Sora's heart answered. My body was stored in Castle Oblivion where it would remain safe but my heart slept inside Sora's.

Then, not even a year ago, Sora became a Heartless and so Roxas was born. My heart couldn't stay with Sora because he was heart less. So I joined with Roxas in his creation. When Roxas came close to my body inside Castle Oblivion, we finally rejoined and I awoke.

So I didn't really dream about Roxas, I was there. In a way. Though you are right. I haven't met him. But I'd really like to. And Sora too. I'd love to thank them.

[Axel listens, his mind trying to come to terms with everything. He doesn't like it; not at all. He was trying to Roxas merging back with Sora, and then Roxas goes and merges with someone else!]

Or you're just really, really confused and making stuff up to confuse everyone else.

[And he might be a little bit in denial. Or maybe he's hoping this just isn't true.]

You don't have to believe me. But it's all true.

[Ven shrugged.]

But you have already heard of me, so maybe you should believe me.

[Axel narrows his eyes. Ventus doesn't seem to be lying, but... he still doesn't really want to believe that Roxas is actually part of multiple people.]

Let's assume for a minute that I believe your story: what does that mean for Sora, then? Is he just stuck without a heart now?

[Not that he actually cares much about Sora's fate right now. Still, this is all pretty important -- if it's true.]

No. Sora still has his heart. I was just...there as well for a bit.

[Ventus gave Axel a long look.] Doesn't seem like you care much about Sora either way though.

But if Sora needed Roxas to wake up, and now Roxas has merged with you... doesn't seem like Sora will be waking up any time soon.

[Axel smirks at what Ventus says.] It's not like I could care about Sora if I wanted to. You kinda need a heart for stuff like that.

I said nothing about merging. That's what Vanitas wanted to do with me. My heart was inside Sora's heart so I could mend it. When Sora turned into a Heartless, I moved onto his Nobody.

[Ven almost smirks.] You must be a Nobody too right? Thinking you don't have a heart? Well I'll tell you something, Axel, Roxas has a heart. And I think you must do to. So get that memorized!

[Axel laughs coldly.]

You've been asleep too long, kid. Time to wake up and face the real world. Nobodies don't have hearts, and you thinking I must won't change the facts.

[Axel is going to continue to stubbornly refuse to believe a word Ventus says, thank you very much.]

Stop being so stubborn. I have been inside Roxas' heart. It exists. And Roxas is a Nobody. Therefore Nobodies have hearts!

That includes you. Axel. Lea. Whatever you call yourself now. You have a heart!

Roxas had your heart, supposedly. That doesn't mean all Nobodies have hearts. Roxas has always been an exception to most rules of the Nobodies.

You think I can't tell the difference between my own and someone else's heart?!

[Ven's getting a little annoyed at this guy. He's worked out he's Lea's Nobody and yes that makes him sad, but he's still annoyed at the way he's being treated.]

Fine. Have it your way. When you realise the truth, I'll get to say I told you so.

What I think is that you've been asleep for a very long time, and you're obviously disoriented. Maybe you should think about what you're saying. Doesn't it all sound a little.... far-fetched?

[Axel's definitely trying to confuse the poor boy, now.]

Let me know when you realize you're only dreaming this up.

[If this wasn't Lea's Nobody, then he would already tried to bash some sense into him with his Keyblade. As it is, he stops trying to get angry. He could be right of course, Roxas was the exception when it came to Nobodies and the heart he had felt could have simply been an extension of his own. But that's really not what he wants to believe.]

I believe it to be the truth. I've tried to convince you but you're refusing to believe anything I say.

So, Axel, let's fight. [He's got the same gleam in his eye he did back in Radiant Garden when he's beat Lea and he hopes that doing it again now will help Axel believe him.]

[Axel blinks.] I'm not going to fight you. You just woke up and you're clearly delirious. Take some time to get used to your surroundings, at least, and realize that you're wrong here. And then we'll talk.
