AU Carlisle comes out to play
This has, quite simply, got the be the most idiotic idea you've had in ages. To actually make me an account, design a bullet point history for me (quite lacking in creativity as well, mind you), and to post here all in the same day?
Put more thought into my history, please.
[He makes a face.]
It's a pale demonstration of the things I've accomplished over the past several centuries.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've things to do.
[ooc: His AU includes him not trying to kill himself in the beginning (because he never had the chance), feeding off humans and joining the Volturi.]

Pale? It's transparent. She changed everything that makes you who you are.
no subject
Your Carlisle, who I share a headspace with, is still very much in existence. We're different people with different choices.
no subject
Carlisle? What happened to you?
no subject
Nothing has happened to me, aside from this ridiculous charade of my mundanes.
no subject
So she'll simply ask, quietly--]
Carlisle?

Alice has a gut feeling that, if she were human, the mere sight would make her ill. As she is now, she just feels profoundly wrong.]
Carlisle, I'm one of your daughters. Alice. Jasper and I found you, don't you remember?
no subject
You could never become this. You have too much compassion for the living. If you don't have that, then you're right, you're a completely different person. You aren't Carlisle Cullen and you shouldn't bear his name.
no subject
[Damn. And him without his contacts.]
no subject
I'm sure I'd remember if I had family members named Alice or Jasper.
no subject
I don't kill humans for game, Edward. Only out of need and only when that need becomes nearly impossible to bear. I'm considerably more merciful than the rest of Volturi.
no subject
[Alice is, for once in her life, speechless. This is Carlisle, the peaceful head of the Cullens. The man who never tasted blood. He taught her before they even met.
What she wouldn't give to have Edward here deciphering his thoughts.]
You've been drinking human blood.
[Because that's really her biggest concern right now.]
no subject
[Because, really, it is to him for to know someone that would think he wouldn't.]
no subject
[Her head almost hurts, processing this.]
You've always valued human life. What happened?
man I wish I had more angry icons
He'll speak his mind regardless. ]
Out of need- [ He spits out the word, revolted. ] You know there's another way of life for us! You have to know that, even as you are now, as you chose to be - no, as your mun chooses to make you... Do they realize how insulting that is? To make it seem as if you don't have a choice.
You're better than this.
[ His voice turns ragged. In spite of what he said about them being completely different people, it's clear that he can't differentiate in his heart. His father is his father, no matter what. ] Why? What does your mun intend to do with you like this?
no subject
I don't spill blood as often as the rest of the Volturi however.
I wish you did too!
I do know there's another way of life, and I attempted it once. And while it was a pleasant experience in itself, I prefer a natural food source.
[Doesn't he sound like Aro? Yeah, totally sounds like Aro and Caius and Marcus.]
I do have a choice, Edward. Just as the other Carlisle does.
[He raises a hand and shakes his head slightly.] I haven't a clue. Right now, she only has her eyes on a game that accepts alternate versions of characters but it is only consideration at this point.
And there are still details regarding my life that she needs to finish.

I haven't taught anyone anything of the sort.
lol sorry! here I'll change it up for you
It's like the Volturi made the world's worst puppet. ]
There isn't much left to butcher.
Haha, no need to apologize~
Butcher, redesign. See it as you will.
[It actually does bother Carlisle but he's working on shutting himself off from his emotions right now.]
I'm not as much of a monster as you seem to think that I am.
no subject
Redesign. That makes it sound like you're computer software or something else that's inhuman.
[ He sighs heavily, slowly starting to pace, trying to walk off some steam. His voice sounds calmer, thoughtful, if not a bit resigned. ]
In your own way, you're still being as compassionate as you're...able. I can see that. But I know you're capable of - well, all the things the you that I know accomplished over the past several centuries. [ He tries to smile but it's strained. ]
no subject
[He hates having to upset any version of Edward but this situation was out of his hands.]
It's not impossible to accomplish similar tasks, but things would have to be done differently. And nothing would be quite the same.
no subject
I can't say I'm surprised. I've always known you were hiding monsters beneath the Susie Homemaker attitude.
no subject
[Look at him, there is a clear lack of familiarity from the vampire. And he seems completely calm, or very good at hiding what he's feeling.]
no subject
Funny, coming from a bloodsucker! I can't remember the last time I killed a human. Can you?
no subject
Before I moved to Forks. Why? Looking for a reason to kill me?
no subject
If you're asking like that... Yes.
no subject
I'd rather not spill blood here, if it's any difference to you.
no subject
I would rather you don't spill any blood at all. I won't stand by and watch as you prey on innocents, corpse.
no subject
I may have killed humans, but I do it only out of necessity and only when I have no other choice.
no subject
[She snorts, her hands clench painfully around her upper arms.]
I can imagine what you consider "necessity", bloodsucker...
no subject
no subject
Your way of life is my concern if you go around dragging other people into it!
{She raises her chin and takes a deep, steadying breath.] I don't want a battle but I'm not going to back down from one if you force my hand. [She is used to fighting battles she can't win, after all.]
no subject
[And throughout all of this, he remains eerily calm.]
If you don't want a battle, it's as simple as not making this situation a physical one.
no subject
She laughs harshly, a sharp, barking sound.]
You do! It's your presence that turned me into what I am! You and your... family... [She scoffs again, unable to help herself.] If it weren't for you I would be a normal human and I wouldn't be judging you. So yes, I will judge you. Didn't anyone tell you yet? It's a free country. [A sour expression flickers over her face. Yes, free for everyone else, but not for her.]
no subject
It is because of your kind, so close to Forks, that I resorted to collecting donated blood when I can so that I can feed.
no subject
Of course you have! Esme, Edward, Rosalie, Emmett, all of us!
[She can'd help the little choked sob. This is just so wrong.]
no subject
no subject
You can't even remember your wife?!
no subject
[Wow... He actually feels guilty.]
I apologize for any trouble this causes you.
no subject
[She averts her face, utterly disgusted with the vampire in a way that had nothing to do with his smell.]
I never thought I could loathe the Cullens more than I already did. Congratulations, leech, you've taught me I was wrong.
no subject
Heaven forbid.
Have I? Well, I accomplished one thing today, at least.
no subject
[She exhales noisily, her hands curl into fists at her sides.]
You... I loathe you. [A low growl escapes her.] You and your fucking perfect family with your money and your holier-than-thou attitude shoving it into our face that you think you're so much better than us in your fancy house with your expensive cars and you're so good and nice and perfect!
[Wrong Cullen, but Leah is beyond caring. It's as good an opportunity to rant as any.]
no subject
Edward understands, too. ] Assuming, of course, that you'd even have an interest in accomplishing similar tasks in the first place. I'd wager not.
[ Slowing his pacing to a standstill. ] I apologize for losing my temper with you. I do understand the concept of alternate realities. I can't expect to hold you to any kind of standard. It's unreasonable. It's just terribly confusing - and supremely frustrating, I might add - to encounter someone you think you know better than anyone else only to discover they may as well be a perfect stranger, for all you know.
You handled it well.
no subject
You don't like how rich I may be? You think my family and I, which I don't have I might add, shove it in the faces of others?
You're more than welcome to try to one-up us.
no subject
[She ground her teeth and clenched her hands into fists so tight that it hurt, yet she couldn't find the right words. Her anger simply wouldn't let her think clearly. Such arrogance... It was all she could do to hold the wolf back.]
It's all a game to you, isn't it, leech? You oh so smart bloodsuckers toying with the rest of the world!
