[Oh, Rue. You shouldn't be here either. Shouldn't be forced to be a piece in someone else's games. Not again. Is there any length they won't go to?

It's a moment's pause before she speaks.]

For Prim. [And then she adds.] My sister.

I remember. [She saw the broadcast just like everyone else did. Once the news had spread about a volunteer from an outlying district, that was all anyone in their "team" could talk about. Even Thresh had been sort of interested.]

Where is she?

[Where is she? Hard to say. Katniss isn't entirely sure where she is, much less Prim. It's a disconcerting thought.

Probably equally as disconcerting as having this conversation right here, right now with Rue.]

They told me she was coming too.

[airborn]

[Rue notices Katniss' discomfort, but she doesn't know why Katniss would be. Seeing her sister again is a good thing, isn't it?]

I think it's true! People show up in the places all the time.

[She nods, half to herself, half to Katniss.] Haven't seen Prim where I am, though.

[Not here. Not under these circumstances. Not when there's nothing she can do to protect her from the worst possible fate: being a pawn. Even agreeing to play (again) is ultimately useless, but it's the only thing she has.

She isn't sure whether Rue's comment lessens her discomfort or increases it. Maybe a little bit of both. But for the sake of her little ally, she'll try not to let it show.]
