Dearest Mundane,

Have you thought this over completely? You know you haven't played me in quite some time, particularly in this incarnation there-of. Are you sure you can handle it? I certainly do understand your want to play someone who, how do I say, isn't an elder by some means. Really, I do, but that does not excuse you from having to particularly careful with how you go about things.

Things will not go as smoothly as you might intend, not that you are unaware of my... hesitance to be dropped in a world already at war and already at the throats of one another. Particularly I do not care for the fact they believe they hold such power over me simply due to age or experience, my title is what it is and I do not appreciate them thinking they are above my dema-... I mean suggestions due to such a petty little system I do not even adhere to. Nor do I have any intentions on getting my hands sullied for their power struggle and petty squabbling.

I do appreciate you convincing that dear friend of your's to bring Len along, it does make things a lot more bearable for me.

Your mundane seems pretty serious about your arrival.

It tends to happen when her mind is actually focused and determined upon something. Not that she particularly picks those who would be most suited to the place.

A pity, truly.

It's pretty common for their concentration to go towards unnecessary things.

I would have rather stayed away from her attentions, but it seems I cannot escape that fate despite my best efforts.

... Though for some reason she's laughing about all of this and I can't quite figure out why.

Avoiding her would do little anyway.

Typically I am in these situations, but I feel more curious than apprehensive about the subject.

I assume, given her actions, that you're stuck in that place as well?

[It's not rude! Be glad he doesn't just flat out not talk to her!]

And many others are. Not everyone is human, which makes things even more interesting.

[It's not like she wanted to, anyway! Or something.]

Not... human? Explain. That makes not a single bit of sense and is an impossibility unless you're speaking of pets or wild creatures.

I'm speaking of exactly that, but they aren't wild nor pets. They're very much sentient beings, sometimes more so than the instructors.

[Excuse her while she looks unamused, crossing her arms over her chest and frowning.]

You must be trying to fool me, there is not such a thing.

You do not appear to be, but not everyone looks to be joking when they are. [She does not trust him at all, to be fair.]

Forgive me if my disbelief does not recede by any means. I do not care if it is another world and that there are supposed other ones as well, there is no such thing as non-humans being sentient.

I already have a perfectly capable servant, but I suppose I could always use one to give unsavory tasks I would not dare ask of Len.

It will be quite a joy, I do reward good behavior. [Not really.]

My mun's nervous about playing me. She barely even paid attention to my story or anyone else I know for over a year!! And now she's suddenly going to send me to a game. And what makes me mad is she thought of it because this game only takes villains!! I'm not a bad person!! Kira will win in the end, and villains don't win!

Oh, but you're going to have a friend at your place too? That's great!! Light -- my boyfriend, I mean -- will be there with me, too, in the city I'm going to. I don't know what I'd do without him! He's all I live for, really!

[That last sentence is said cheerfully like she's just throwing words around, but she's dead serious.]

[Huh. This girl sounds awfully familiar, at least in the way she's so cheerfully accepting of her life being for someone else entirely. She can't help a tiny bit of a smile. Just ignore the random small table and chair she's sitting at with a tea kettle and cups on a nice tray.]

It could be worse, at least you have a choice of what you wish to do. Where mine is taking me I have little choice than to bow to the whims of those who are in charge of the world. Which, mind you, is something I have never allowed myself to do unless they were my parents.

[A small pause, taking a quiet sip.] I would not call him just a friend, he is my servant. My twin.

Ooh, I'm not sure if I'll have much of a choice. The thing is, the place rewards you when you do bad things, and makes your life miserable if you do good things! So I have to figure out what they think is bad, and I have to keep doing it otherwise I might starve or something. But the only bad things I've done have been for someone else, so I don't even know how that would work!!

[...Mmf. Hit a nerve, but she never loses that smile.] That's so nice that you're good to your parents and you're so close with your twin! My sister got disowned and I have no idea what she's up to these days, and my parents were killed. But you know I think I'm still being good to my parents anyway!! I support Kira, and Kira killed the people who murdered them. I'd do anything to help Kira! I think they'd be proud, don't you?

[She thinks for a moment.] Hey, if you guys are the same age, how come he ended up being your servant and not the other way around?

Sometimes one must do what they think is evil or ill in order to be around to do good things. Evil and bad are subjective terms, don't you think? Killing someone is bad to one person, but the person who did the killing may be doing it for revenge for an ill-will done towards them by that person. Thus evil and bad are morally grey areas, you should find those gray areas and exploit them to your purposes, I think. Such as your Kira, that would be considered as a bad and evil thing to most, but in your perspective it was a good deed.

[Urk. That hit a nerve, though. She falters in her calm demeanor, frowning for a moment. But she's quick to return to her calm smile.]

It is a rather long story involving some prophecy involving a cursed mark. But he chose his role willingly and thus it is how we are.

[She giggles.] Mun's saying something about how that's the main dilemma in my story. But she's too indecisive to stick to one side anyway, so whatever! Kira has tons of supporters around the world. Things are so much safer now but the police are still trying to stop him! I don't get it, all Kira is doing is making their job easier by getting rid of criminals!

[...Huh. There's a flicker of pity for him, but she's not a stranger to choosing to serve, so this doesn't faze her much.] Oh, I see! If he wants to be your servant, though, it means he trusts you! So as long as you realize that then I think that's a good thing, being like that.

It hardly seems a dilemma to me, but then I think of things in a far different manner than most. Though, ah, what are... police, exactly? I have never heard of such a term.

[Pity not to be wasted as things are far better now for him, or she thinks so.] Of course I realize that. I would never allow for something to happen to him that is my doing. Even as my servant he is still my brother and will remain that way as far as I am concerned.

Ooh, you don't have police? Over here they try to work to keep everything safe. Punishing bad people and everything. There are rules for how bad the punishment is depending on how bad the crime is. Kira has found a way to do that just by knowing names and faces of all the bad people, so the police don't even have to go looking for people and wait for them to go on trial and be punished. That's why I think they should be thankful!

It sounds like you're really good to him, that's wonderful. [She can't tell anyone she's directly helping Kira, so...] I do a lot of things for my boyfriend but it seems to take a lot of work to get him to appreciate it.

We have a guard, they are about the same thing, it looks like. The guard is typically made up of swordsmen and other such people deemed to be worthy. I... usually would have a member of the guard with me, but Len is far more than enough protection for me. Do tell how he manages to do that, it would make our lives a lot simpler if we had a system in place such as that. Far more efficient, as well.

[Soft bit of a laugh, setting her cup down, hands cupping it lightly.] Sometimes people have high standards as to what they think is worthy of appreciation or praise. What sort of things do you do?

Oh, that sounds like stuff they did a really long time ago! That's really cool! Oh, and -- [...Haaa. Um.] Well, that's what everyone's trying to figure out. But people die of heart attacks after they've been announced on the news and it's so obvious it's not a coincidence.

[Yep, she's running herself into a wall here. But Misa-Misa is a great actress! So!] Oh! Well, I do a lot of things for him when he can't, a lot of things that he wouldn't want to do, either... but wants them done anyway. Actually! I can't really tell you, for that reason. He only trusts me to do it because he doesn't want anyone knowing, because he's really embarrassed about it.

[And somehow, Misa, you have made it sound like being Kira means having your diapers changed.]

A really long time ago...? [What is this future nonsense. What. Buuut going to mostly ignore that line of thought, ever the more curious.] Sounds like a useful ability to have, probably too much so of one to entrust to anyone else. One wrong move and you could have a mass murderer on your hands.

[Tiniest hint of a smirk, pulling a fan from her side to hide it. Best to hide her emotions other than her eyes and those can lie quite a bit.] You will not even tell me? I will not be going to the same place as you, thus I see no harm that would befall anyone by simply doing that. [Switches to a sickeningly sweet tone, acting the innocent role.] What reason would a fourteen-year-old girl have to use that information against anyone or tell anyone else, for that matter?

Ah, see that's what all the people who are against him are saying. But I think the power is in good hands! It's so much safer now, really.

[Her lips are pursed and her cheeks puff out.] Nope! I gave him my word, it doesn't matter if you can't use the information. He doesn't want me to give it so I won't, and that's that! I'm sorry but I don't know you and he's more important.

If you say so~ It all depends upon how it is used, I would think. Too much power in the wrong hands without a buffer is never a good thing.

[Well, there goes that plan. She sighs, snapping the fan shut and looking a tad bit more annoyed than previously.] Loyal. I like seeing that in others.
