That's the only reason I've seen given for dropping a muse that wasn't related to the mun's actual life. Or burnout, which is related to what I first mentioned.

If nothing else, the variety of people brought here deliberately so that they can do new things can put a wrench into the plans of even a mun fond of tragedy. They don't always know how far they're going to get. Tragedies here seem to be a means rather than an end. Except for when a muse leaves a game and relationships behind.
