No. No, not very. [A pause.] Not here. I've been with my mun for years, but it feels like I've been cooped up for ages.

You should go an adventure, see somewhere new. And there are plenty of places to do so around here.

That's what I said! She keeps going on about how busy she's going to be, though. I'm starting to think I'm better running away and doing whatever I want on my own.

But you and Ian - where've you gone off to?

Well, most recently we've found our way into this strange world - it's like...a landscape encased in a dome. We're left completely to our own devices. No running water, electricity, or houses.

Actually, there are houses but they're not very nice. I visited one with a friend and became possessed by a ghost of a poor man, who had the most tragic story.

No Daleks, though. I can't complain about that.

Ghosts? Are all the houses like that? It almost sounds like they don't want you to survive in those domes. Like prehistoric times all over again. [Excuse you Susan, not like you have the comfort and technology of the TARDIS anymore either.]

I've only visited one, and I'm yet to ask anyone else about their experiences, but my Mundane is saying 'yes'.

I wouldn't say it's exactly like Prehistoric times again. We're not tied up in caves, and some of the others have magic, so we're able to build some of the things we need. Also, no one's pressuring us to make fire for them.

Well, I guess that's true. But - you can't leave? Just go somewhere else?

Unfortunately not at this time, although we are looking for a way out. I just hope that when we do find a way of that place, that we can go back to our home, not just the last place that we were. We were last on a space ship called 'Stacey' in the middle of a universal war. I'd rather live like a caveman than go back to that.

Neither of those sound very appealing. [She makes a face.] Not everything's like that, right? So - violent and frightening?

Not at all. In fact, most of the time we have in this dome place is spent however we like. Which is to say, away from danger and any possibility of being killed or chased. In fact, Ian and I usually spend the afternoons lazing about somewhere.

I can't fault you that! After being in the midst of a war and being possessed - not to mention everything with Grandfather and the TARDIS. I think that's a fine way to handle it.

I think that's probably wise...too much Plurk and it messes with your brain :S

As for me, oh, I'm quite well, quite well indeed. Made new friends, along the way. Ian and Barbara quite sensibly wandered off to do whatever it is they'll do. I suspect whatever it is, it will be done well.

[He pulls out his wallet - the one with his old, very old, library card with the picture of the Doctor she'd remember, holds it up next to his face, and tries to imitate that old familiar grumpy expression.]

[At the imitation of the picture on the library card, she can't help but cover her mouth and laugh. Yep, same old resemblance right there.]

It is you! You're so different - I could have passed you on the street and never would have stopped to guess! [Not gonna lie, she's a little embarrassed at that, and when he asks his question, she shrugs.]

Not long after you and Ian and Barbara left. A few months, maybe.

[He may not show any changes outwardly, but when she laughs, it's like Time-Lord happy pills, and some of the gloom that's always clouding his thoughts clears. He just gives her a great, big idiotic grin and leans in for one more quick hug. Just in case he missed some hugs with the first one.]

Well, I've gone through a lot of changes since then, believe you me! This is my nineth, no, tenth??? Nineth...or...no, no, tenth body! And you haven't changed one little bit, you look marvelous.

[He ponders the timeline for a moment, and for only a brief instant, the smile on his face faulters just a little. It tries to come back, but there's a fragility to it that wasn't there before.] So, after the Daleks attacked Earth? And you and that David fellow...?

David's nice. Really, he is - kind and determined and strong - but oh, Grandfather, he wants to settle down already and I just don't think... No, I know I don't.

He tries to hide it, but a sudden sorrow crosses his face as she speaks, and he tries to smile at her.]

Oh Susan. dear Susan. I know you didn't want to stay behind, but I did it for your own good. You...you deserved better then this old man and that blue box could give you. You deserved a nice, happy, safe life. I knew David would treat you right...[He wished she could tell him if she was happy before...well. She was still decades away from that at least. She wouldn't know yet how everythig turned out. Perhaps it was better that way.]
