If you mean midget detectives, then I've not had the pleasure of meeting one yet, though the statistics behind my meeting one makes the odd of that happening fairly good.

I've never actually tried asking- I'm usually dodging soccer balls when that guy's around. However, I can conclude that it wasn't magic since he doesn't believe in it. Also that he must have gotten himself into some pretty deep trouble. After all, why else would he decide to suddenly take on the identity of a minor, hide his intelligence, and hide the truth from his precious girlfriend?

Disbelieving in something hardly equates to the subject's non-existence; that's a very bad line of reasoning.

I'd assumed you familiar with this midget detective of yours enough to have a good opinion of his, as you say, current predicament, but I wonder what a skilled performer like you might have a need to know of a detective. Hand dexterity borne of practice, well-developed upper body of considerable strength, that's not a definitive characteristic of a football player, is it? Observation skills of decent caliber, given how you made an assessment of my person in a single cursory look almost without my noticing, so you've done that before, and that sort of high-powered attention is hardly focused by an adolescent on a proper adult, so there's also motive, but what - and what is the good question. Every clothing article on your person is worn naturally but there's a distinct guarded tell to the way you wear your sleeves, either you're self-conscious or playing with your sleeves - and the wear on the cuffs tell that much, there's a patch along the hem more worn than the rest - it's a bit of a jump, but I doubt you're pulling at the cuff because you're nervous, it doesn't make sense to your entire appearance.

So which is it, what sort of performer are you other than an athlete? What's gotten you in trouble with a detective?
