[Looks up at something his mun says. He looks caught off guard at first and then frowns, sighing.]

Don't. You know how much it's going to mean to me to see her there, but you also know nothing is ever that simple for us. Trouble always finds us whenever we're in the same place as each other.

He's a good kid, Angel. You haven't always gotten along with him, but you'd be proud of him.

[Angel feels a swell of joy and pride. Fatherhood had been something he wanted but gave up on a long time ago. Now he had the kind of son he could be proud of, he knew Faith wouldn't mince her words.

Which meant she also wouldn't lie about everything that happens being his fault. He grits his teeth and clothes his eyes over, the anger is giving way to crippling guilt.] It's not right, Faith. That everyone else has to pay when I screw up and somehow I keep on existing.

When you lead the lives that we do there's always a price to pay. I wasn't there, but I'm pretty damn sure that you did every single thing possibly to save your friends. None of this is your fault. It just...happened. Some of them sacrificed themselves for the good fight while some of them were taken before their time. And it must have been harsh and cruel, but it's just the world we live in. Sometimes it sucks, but we have to keep on fighting. [Oh God...she really is spending too much time around him, isn't she?]

You said it yourself, Faith. I was the one the who started the chain of events. [In the back of his head he knows what she is saying is true. Their line of work offers no guarantees for a tomorrow and Cordy was adamant about keeping her visions, no matter the cost. Her words will eventually click for him but for now he's trying to see past the grief.]

I'll keep fighting no matter what. I owe it to them and so much more.

At least they have this place. [It's not the same as being alive back home but it's enough to keep his sanity in check.]

Connor, huh? [Didn't recognize that name and it sounds like a name he would choose for a son.] Is that my son's name?

Yeah. [She nodded, smiling weakly.]

What's he like? [Needs something to help keep him grounded.]

He's like his dad, but shorter and with less product in his hair. [A beat.] Connor's...he's unique, I guess. He's the son of two vampires. He's wicked smart. Kinda dorky at times, but he's also brave and heroic and he loves you. And you love him too, Angel. He's your everything. [Sappy conversations and nice descriptions aren't really Faith's thing, but it's the least she can do right now even if she is choosing to edit out the parts about Connor's childhood and the fact that he nearly killed himself, Cordelia and a bunch of innocent bystanders.]

Hey, I don't want to put product in my hair. [Closes his eyes over as he listens to Faith, picturing what his son looks like in his head.]

I believe it. He sounds like a good kid, a great kid. [Manages the smallest of smiles.] Do you think I'll ever get to meet him in this place? [Has another reason for wanting to come from further in the future. Meeting his son and watching him grow is something that would give him the hope he needs to keep going under any circumstances.]
