I have no conviction. I have love of them, fear of them, fear for them; but I have no more convictions. It is a modern world, this age of new, and the mind that settles on one thought doesn't endure.

Yes, some of us come from worlds where vampires live openly. A friend of mine is from one such. It is not a perfect situation, but it has worked out better than one might think.

Humans are not treated as food. They have voluntary and paid donors, and artificial blood. Murder is murder for every citizen, whether they have fangs or not.

Humans react to this in a variety of ways. Some of us hate us very much, some like us very much, and most are in the continuum in between. There has been some violence on both sides.

As much of a disappointment as you have been, the three of us together have always owned some degree of decorum. The new vampires think themselves wits with only a little real cleverness shared between their great number.
