An anniversary!
"The night is warm and clear and without wind. ..." What a nice translation of Leopardi's poem you found for me. Thank you.
You almost forgot, didn't you? This marks our fourteenth year together. My fourteenth year of me telling you that you should spend less time feeling sorry for me and my fate, and more trying to learn from my story.
And speaking of learning, the anxiety you seem to display so frequently lately is thoroughly unnecessary. In the Bard's words, "The readiness is all", and I suggest you go back and read that whole line of Hamlet's, in case you have grown tired of hearing it from me. Change could come at your door at all times, and it is only natural for it to be so - being prepared for it is what matters. And I know you are.
May our fourteenth anniversary be joyful, mundane.
... Ah... one last thing.
Thank you. For being my friend.
