Mundane,
What, exactly, are you waiting for? If you're going to attempt to play me without making an absolute fool of yourself, you need to watch the second season. You can't possibly expect to play anyone adequately with less information than everyone around you, much less me.
No, 'waiting to watch the episodes with John's mun' is not a valid excuse. I'm always ten steps ahead of him; you need to be ten steps ahead of her, as well.
...Well, if we can't even agree on that, I can already conclude that you're going to fail at this spectacularly. Oh, by all means, do try to prove me wrong. Nobody else has succeeded at it, but I'm quite sure you can be the first.
Shut up.
Mycroft doesn't count. And if you like him so much, maybe you should go and play him instead of bothering me. I do have more important things I can be doing.

As I said, you'd find it fascinating.

Ah, no reception? Unfortunately I don't have my copy with me.
no subject
I wouldn't expect you did.
no subject
But you probably wouldn't believe me-it's better to have evidence.

[He's quite good at telling when people are lying, but obviously he's not going to tell you that.]

The original publishing date of the book in question was 1887. The title of that book is Sherlock Holmes: A Study in Scarlet.

Actually, it just so happens that I'm named after the author of the series. Lucky for me he happens to be my favorite.
no subject
There is likely to be a high degree of causality there.
no subject
[Or it could be that his name isn't really Conan at all and it's just an alias he chose spur of the moment when pressed for a name]
So it's not really surprising that I'd be a fan, too.
no subject
[Technically, Sherlock hasn't asked for his name; it isn't relevant, and he doesn't care. Because he's a huge dick, obviously.]
no subject
[As much of a fan as Shinichi is, he'd rather not take the chance Gin or Vodka could overhear and get everyone associated with him killed.]
Trust me, I'm well aware of what you just said- as well as your annoyance at the idea of someone repeating the exact same thing you just said.
However, I was merely agreeing with you.

[Though usually later than sooner. And obviously, 'always' is gross hyperbole.
Mundane has no familiarity with Conan's canon and is thus on the back foot a little here; apologies.]no subject
[
No problem! Basically, Conan is like a miniature Sherlock only with slightly more sympathy. Also- something Holmes might take note of- Conan does not hold himself like a child and more like a confident teenager. As well as the fact there's no trace of innocence in his eyes.]no subject
[
He certainly doesn't doesn't come across as childish! And it would be difficult to have less sympathy than Sherlock, sigh.]no subject
Personally, I like when someone refuses to admit I'm right. It makes it all the more fun when revealing the evidence.
[
Th-that's because he's secretly the shrunken version seventeen year old high school detective Shinichi Kudo who is a missing person for... obvious reasons.]no subject
[
Of... course he is. That's obviously what's going on here. ...Okay, no; even Sherlock might take a while to reach that conclusion. Though he'd probably get there in the end.]no subject
Besides, if that were the case then there'd be no need for a consulting detective and you'd be perpetually bored.
[
Y-yeah... it's not exactly an obvious conclusion]no subject
I doubt it. If everyone in the world were as smart as I am, it would be a much more interesting place.
[
It would simply never happen, in his canon. But he's not in his canon now, and he's learning to accept that all the line between the improbable and impossible is much finer than he'd ever dreamed.]no subject
[
poor Sherlock. Conan is slightly more inclined to believe the improbable because of.. shrinking.]no subject
[It does give one a... unique perspective, yes.]
no subject
OHGOD, I apologise. He's such a prat.
D-don't apologize th-they are almost exactly a like D:
[ Insulted by Sherlock Holmes. Conan is actually... slightly amused. Perhaps it's because he knows for a fact he isn't dull, or maybe it's just that he's that much of a fanboy. Or maybe both. ]
Well, that's good news for me then.
[....Or it could be that he's gloating]
Sad, but true.
O-obviously they cannot get along
