Ovates and Bards aren't permitted to go into battle; even if I wanted to, I can't take skulls, myself, they have to be brought to me. Even if I wanted a human skull and those are more preferable.

I want to make a ward and cleanse this space.

Interestingly enough, I would partially have to disagree. My teachers who were Druids were humans, except for one. Bards and other Ovates as well.

If it doesn't work, I will find another way.
