 The idea of the soul residing outside the body does not ring so dissimilar from another easily corruptible force from my own world. The bending arts were abused passed the point of recognition as a spiritual gift, and the soul is always the first to break when absolute power corrupts absolutely.

That said, I have little faith -- so to speak -- in anything that sounds even remotely like it.

The possibility doesn't automatically mean all users are ultimately corrupt, though.

Philosophically, it will be interesting to find the parallels and decide if humans are the same everywhere.

I won't say that I don't harbor a dislike for you and Hiroshi Sato, but from a combat stance, I understand the reason you set it up the way you did, and can almost respect the tactical genius of it.
