I know I said I was going to spend the summer with Laurie and her mom, but that's not really leaving.

[She almost says leave you, almost but not quite. It was on the tip of her tongue even, but she can't actually bring herself to say it right now. Not when he's looking at her like that.]

[He thought he was over it. He really did. But it's just seeing her- just hearing her voice again gets all his defenses up.He knows if he lets them down she'll just barge inside his mind and heart. Like the wind.]

[It's just so like her to say those things. He might have seen it coming but it still hits him like a brick to the face. If she felt like that why did she leave him? If she truly... if she truly is sorry to hurt him why will she do it in the future?

[To be fair he was the one spouting "all new humans should go home" without thinking about the consequences of the fact that said girlfriend was now human too. Which really sucks by the way, her powers have always been a huge part of her life.]

[Because the writers suck that's why she never came back. It's not her fault honest.]
