[Face wrinkled up and that nasally voice:] Are you sure this is a good idea? Just because my canon ended doesn't mean I don't still have a show to write. I can't write the show from Your Head, Population: Me and some other people.

You're a writer, so I know you can understand this, but you can't put me somewhere where I can't be writing. I'll go insane and then you'll have a crazy person in your head and I don't think that benefits anyone.

I think we understand each other. [He turns back to a keyboard and possibly can be heard muttering "I'm eating it."]

I'm not insane I'm just... [Eating it? Hand through the hair.] I'm only insane in the way all writers are insane and not any more than that. [Starts to turn away, turns back.] Artists. The way all artists are insane. The good ones, anyhow. [Turns back to computer with the blank page in front of him.]

I'm not- [Rubbing both hands through his hair this time.] Van Gogh was real crazy, legitimate crazy, I'm just artist-crazy.

So you're telling me I shouldn't be expecting Starry Night levels of genius here. [He cracks a smile, walking around behind Matt to put a hand on his shoulder and lean down.] Look, Mattie, you can write anywhere. I've seen you do it. You wrote all of "Santa Has Psoriasis" in the back of a six-seater Cessna. On Dramamine. If you can do that, this is going to be a cake walk.

I know, I did, but that was... [Now gesticulating at the computer.] That was different! That was Santa Has Psoriasis, it was easier than putting on a shirt in the morning, the show is not that easy and I need to be someplace where I can at least send the show to...the show. Most headspaces don't exactly have email. [One last minor spaz attack which is actually him getting up to pace.]
