It hurt like a bitch. And I would know. Stopped me transforming- silver does that- but I was already in my real shape. 

Friend had to cut it out of me with a silver knife she found on one of their bodies.

For us, pain like that keeps us in human form. The rest sounds about right though. Our bodies don't heal as quickly from silver as they do from other things.

Wolfsbane is one step up from that. A shot in the arm'll poison you, if you can't get an antidote, you're be dead in a couple of days.
