voice test for an AU, looking for a game
Dear spirits, you are in denial...and seem to be enjoying it too. Haven't even considered how strange it is for me, have you? To have this existence, and then realize that you're objectively not the real, canonical one. And perhaps it's only because you're infectious, but it is my existence still...I have enough of an attachment to it. I'm not about to give it up so easily.
[OOC: An Amon who was never really deceptive about himself. He is a nonbender, and badly scarred.]
And you're considering dropping me off at a library that Wan Shi Tong himself would've been proud of? Or in an Ark traversing the stars? Or someplace else entirely? Given your indecisiveness, might I suggest just leaving me where I am right now? Someone needs to actually lead a revolution to victory....

[Sorry, fascinated right now.]

I applaud such a thoughtful analysis--but I don't have much of a reason to confirm or deny at this moment, now do I?
[OOC: I imagine General Iroh has some press, and Amon would keep track of it, try to get some surveillance of possible long-distance foes, especially if they were to come and fight him.]
no subject
Still, one has to look at all solutions. Just as some benders can grievously abuse their power, so could your skills be abused. [The fact he thinks they are is obvious here.]
[Ooc: Makes plenty of sense!]
no subject
Well, you are a rational one, aren't you? How refreshing.
There are indeed so many ways to approach a problem...but then there comes the time to act, and one must choose a course of action and stick to it. Perhaps there can be deviation from the path, but that is rare, and such a deviation must be again carefully considered.
At least I have only myself to worry about. [A difficult task already, but he's not about to say that aloud to General Iroh.] I have yet to teach anyone my abilities, or find anyone else other than Avatar Aang who can do the same as I. I should say I'm in a rather unique position to observe how the mass practice of bending has been abused, and do my utmost best to avoid those mistakes.

I apologize if I gave the impression that was in itself terrible; a library does sound...pleasant. [And Amon's voice lowers slightly into something warmer.] All that knowledge at one's finger tips, and Wan Shi Tong is a particularly great spirit.... If I was not in the middle of leading a revolution such a library would sound more ideal. But to be plucked from the Cause? It is not ideal.

I can understand not wanting to be pulled away from your work- I have my own duties to attend to, in my own world.
no subject
May I ask what those duties entail?

Yup! I'm at Distant Skies!

[OOC: I'm guessing 'brothers and sisters' is a common enough greeting among the Equalists, though I imagine 'comrade' works just as well. But Amon always calls the Lt. 'Lieutenant.']

[Amon sounds rather amused.]

[Lin sounds like she wouldn't really know amusement if it danced up to her naked.]
no subject
But no, I suppose not--you would be rather more invested in this, wouldn't you? More than dealing with the bender gangs, in any case.
[Any amusement leaves his voice now.]

[Inclines his head slightly.]
You have a point there.
May I ask how you deal with all these multiple versions of you?
no subject
Mostly luck, that and I just don't think about it all that much.
no subject
Sound strategy.
[OOC: Just headcanon on spirit world accomodating the fact that it's still quite a mystery in canon, how it really works, etc.]

Not the 'real one'? Amon, what business is this?
[OOC: YES I have wanted to RP this AU Amon with the Lieutenant!]
[Amon stops, tries to digest the Lieutenant's question. Easier to process than his relief cracking his composure.]
I did not lie about being a nonbender and my family burning, while he--
[Amon stops again. His composure was still cracking.]
Ah, do you know the concept of 'canon,' Lieutenant? It's only something I've recently been made aware of--its other relevant meaning, anyway. And this does have a point, it's related to the...'real one' issue.
This is my first time playing the Lt. Apologies in advance for awkwardness.
I'm familiar with the concept of multiple selves. [spoken tersely; he doesn't address Amon's previous question.]
Re: no worries, I'm still pretty new at this too
All right. There is the Amon who is Noatak and a bloodbender. Then there is me, only Amon, a nonbender. The story Noatak--your Amon told you proved false, but it is true for me.

[OOC: how to do this wrt scars?]

[OOC: hope this is clear enough, clear that the damage is...severe]
