Mun,
How dost thou expect me to keep thy title of God of Thunder in a world in which I can not call forth the thunder? The lightning?
And thou has taken from me the ability to even cause hurricane from mine own breath!
Nay, I say thee nay mun!! And I will retain my strength! Think no more on that matter, mun.
No more! I have need for a drink, some mead...

You are always loved.

Loki.. [He hurts for how his brother feels, for the accusations of a cruel life. When ever Thor would need comfort, laughter most of all, and to feel loved he would turn to Loki. For his brother offered all him these things, as well as mischief –– yes, but it was not ever to the point in which Thor would choose to become blind to Loki and put his brother behind him.
No.]
I know, Loki.. that I have never put you behind mine own self.

[ Finally his gaze snaps back down, body taut like a bow. ] Do you think I wanted to be forgotten? To be the second son? To be unworthy because I'm not a brute? Do you really think I asked of that for myself? Do you?

Thor would have Loki believe there was no dagger, but it was that bitterness that brought Thor to believe he could never convince his brother.
But never would he give up on this, never would he give up on his brother.]
You art worthy, Loki. And ne'er forgotten –– as I have found you countless times I would not let ye be forgotten.
Tis poison you speak, brother, it coils to your heart and damages thee. You are worthy, but you see not the truth of it.
no subject
You would not understand. [ He draws in on himself, as he always does, arms curled protectively around his waste and glare offered for Thor's efforts. ]
You have the love of all.

[His eyes move down his brother's face, to Loki's boots. Would he leave now? His eyes then back to Loki's mouth. Or would he deny him still?
Though, Thor considers, either one would still be denial.]
Loki.. do you not recall one moment of your life in which you would believe me so? [He thinks of the hunting trips, the mischief even! Parties, feasts, playing with the other younger Asgardians whom they both grew up with.
None other had ever made Thor laugh so as his brother, and none other will. And it breaks his heart to see Loki at such ends of it all.]

But that is much of the problem-- you do not see past your own glory and brightness, you... your love burns. It smites me with the fact that you know not what I have felt-- that you cannot understand what it is to find yourself a monster because for all you love others will love you.
Because you are Thor, [ A smile touches his lips but it fades as soon as it comes, head shaken, rows knit. ] You are of Asgard more than any other could hope to be.

and he would will his brother to have confidence in their time together, like their time as children. No throne in mind, not over the next sweet-treat, over the next fine catch to bring home from a long summer's hunt, nor the places in which they would discover across Asgard.. even across the nine realms. It stopped being about them together as they grew older. Now it was about Loki, it was about Thor, each so separate. And none is more guilty in this than Odin.]
It has not always been the easiest, brother. Many times have I been cast out of Asgard for the vain, cruel, and arrogant man I've grown to be.. [It was for the love that made him cocky, the favored treatment that he received that made him confident in nearly all his actions, no matter how wrong they were.]
To learn lessons of humility. What would you have me learn Loki? So that I will know your feelings, so that I will understand them.
Because I do not see a monster when I see you, I see my brother. And so it will always be. [He shakes his own head, ... he knows he's terrible at this, he would wish to relieve his brother, but his gift was never in words –– like Loki's.]

What he had still hoped for, no matter how foolish it was, crumbled and slipped through his fingers. ] It's beyond you to understand. [ He finally cuts, and the words are harsh because he feels exposed; wounds open to be poked and prodded into, thoughts and emotions twisted. He knew Thor was only trying to be kind, and he hated that he had the ability to love when Loki often felt he did not. Did not understand what compelled him to do as he did-- he was just Loki. Like fire knew not why it burned, it was just all it knew, it's existence, and since things had gone wrong-- since he'd let the mischief become mayhem he hasn't known how to draw it back in. ]
You are a fool. [ He breathes the words, willing them to sound harsh when all he can manage is empty. ] Loving so freely, it will hurt you more than anything else. [ I will hurt you more than anything else. He bites his tongue to silence himself, those words would help none. ]

Loki is the master of lies and it would do the master poorly to void himself of such lies and trickery. It was a cold truth that Loki has turned their history into and allowed to coil his heart with shards of frost.]
Nay, brother.. nothin' is beyond me if it is there that you reside.. [He concludes. No matter how far Loki has taken himself, Thor will travel that distance and continue in this battle of perceptive-truths. It would be the loss of himself if he ever lost Loki, because his brother is the half of him that makes him whole––
and he knows Loki would agree, in means to put Odin to shame for the way he sees himself the worse half that makes Thor even better. But it was never that for Thor. As they have countless battles of words before on this subject, but this war is yet over.. and it never will be for Thor. For as long as Loki would keep that depth of coldness to his heart, poisoning himself with these lies.]

It is no wonder you train so frequently. [ His hand lifts, as if to pat his brothers arm, but he thinks better of it. Digits curling in toward his palm and then dropping to his side once more. ]
no subject
As he will argue that he knows his brother well, he will do so in both conversation and conservation; Loki needs not the wrath of fury but words of affirmation.]
Many a thought comes to mind in which I would see the truth of, Loki.. [He reaches over –– as he had seen the hesitation in his brother's reach, and plants his own hand on Loki's shoulder.] Ne'er will my feelings change for you.
no subject
I believe that. [ There is honesty behind his words, because only a person as stubborn as Thor, with his will, could tolerate all that Loki had done and still feel love. None other would have, he's sure of it, none would have pushed through all his tests and battles and still be willing to call him brother with all the earnest nature that Thor does it. ]
Now stop, before you make me ill. [ He mutters, humored and yet still defensive. This is too much as it stands and Loki is still coming to terms with his own thoughts. ]
no subject
Aye. [He takes back his touch and settles the hand on his own hip. He feels good about their conversation, and the fact that Loki is no longer denying or defying what Thor believes to be true. And it is a good feeling. Better than any battle ever won, he would imagine. Because they are at the end of this battle and no one has departed, attacked, or so forth claimed absolute resistance. No, in the end they are brothers - as they have always ever been - after an exchange of words.]

Hug him! Hug him!
/screams the lols
Hercules?! How now!? [Neither in Olympia nor New York, it is such a sight to see the massive friend from the realm of Zeus!]
Bwahahaha.
[And beer. But beer is a reward for hugging Loki!]
ffffffffffffffffffff
I would, but I fear my brother has an allergen to mine own touch!

[He'll go ahead and look at Loki dubiously. He's not gonna break, is he?] Well, should you think it best...

Why do you look at me so? [ His brow furrows in irritation, he doesn't have cooties. Thanks. ]
no subject
There is no so, tis just so.. that is all. [ He swallows and moves to push Hercules gently on the shoulder –- as gentle as one god to an Olympian could be. ] Aye, Hercules?
no subject
And if he's being pushed forward to get Loki to initiate physical affections, that's what he'll do! C'mon Loki, have a Hercules catching at your arm to haul you over and smush you up against your brother.]
It's plain to see that you're in need of a hug, Silvertongue; yet yon Odinson claims that any such displays of fondness needs must start (though hopefully not end) with you yourself. So hug your brother, and we can all go drinking!
[Because who besides Loki (and possibly Volstagg, but he's a specialist) could keep up with these two? Thor always cried up the value of clever Loki, after all... and with the three of them getting hammered together, they'd probably conquer Latveria or something before passing out!
Clearly, this is the BEST PLAN EVER.]
