canon reviewing has been a little painful.

It's amazing how so many things can go wrong in an instant.  My powers have always had to do with probability....  Perhaps much of this was the consequence of it.  Of tampering with reality, challenging probability.

There's a lot I have to atone for, more than I ever did when I was with the Brotherhood.  Even if I can't fix things, I still have to try.  And I have to do it alone.  I was never an X-man and I no longer have the right to call myself an Avenger.  This battle isn't something I can run from, we both know that.  If the Avengers and the X-men don't destroy each other, the Phoenix will destroy us all.  I can't allow either.

If anything, I'll stand with Hope.

I don't really know what happens, in the future. But whatever it is -

We all screw up. We all lose control. The important part is what we do afterwards.

It's my choices I worry about. I've already done so much to hurt our kind, I don't know if I even have the right to be involved anymore.

But even so, I can't allow Hope to face this on her own.

I've hurt a lot of people. I can't help feeling that going back to the Avengers would be pretending everything never happened.
