considering a game. canon is tanya huff's blood books.
We've been through this many times. Since we seem to have a misunderstanding, let me go over this one last time: my nature doesn't allow for me to be in close quarters with others of my kind. I'm not sure which part of that is difficult to understand, nor am I certain you even care, but consider this your warning. I would rather avoid engaging in a turf war within the confines of a spaceship.
You've done well to resist from sending me somewhere for a few years now. Let's not break that habit.

That's my experience, at least.

[ despite the topic, the corners of his lips twitch into a small smile. ]
It's good to see you.

*returned*
Likewise, Henry. She hadn't even imported my journal here until she saw your post.
How've you been doing?
no subject
I feel as though I should apologize for whatever encouragement seeing me offered your mun, but I am rather flattered.
I've been well. She's left me to my lonesome for the most part, but with the renewed interest, I've a feeling that won't be the case anymore. And you?
no subject
*and she almost laughs at that. So very Henry.* Of course you are. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Similarly, here. Her head is a little too full for her to bother those of us who are busy and quiet overly much, though she occasionally writes stories, especially if I've had an interesting case
or she's just met Tanya Huff. Of course, Tony's boyfriend is more likely to be dragged out, if she is paying attention.no subject
Well, you can't deny the results. I'm certainly not complaining.
You'll forgive me if I'd rather your company than Tony's boyfriend's. It's a shame, though. At the very least, you deserve frequent opportunities to stretch your legs.

And I rather thought you might. He is a charming your man, but his presence around you would probably complicate your life. Even more than I do, I mean, if in entirely different ways.
Aside from the vampire population, do you want to go to that spaceship?
no subject
You complicate my life in ways I enjoy, for the most part. [ some more than others, but he doesn't regret them. ] If he's lacking your endorsement on that front, you have my agreement.
I'm not entirely keen on the idea, no. A haunted spaceship doesn't quite sound my forte. I could be persuaded, however, to enjoy my time there.
no subject
*and eyebrows up* I just meant that the kid would be rather unhappy with you if you ended up seducing his young man, I'm pretty sure that doesn't count as him not having my endorsement. I think.
Here I thought haunted castles would be your thing, and the spaceship aspect would be just novel enough for you to be interested. And that better had not be an invitation. You know I have work to do in Toronto. And around it.
no subject
The spaceship is a bit advanced for my tastes. I've yet to decide how I feel about receiving a numbered tattoo. [ a quick flicker of a smile before his features smooth into easy neutrality. ] It may have been. Would you really put it beyond me to invite you to a spaceship?
no subject
*wrinkles her nose* Those would stick around for a long time, with us, wouldn't they.
... and now she is contemplating it. From before you turned me.
Of course I wouldn't put it beyond you. *deadpan* You invited me to the countryside.
no subject
A 'long time' may be an understatement. Given how these places generally operate, they would last our entire stay. [ but okay, that smile widens. ] I can't say that upsets me.
A spaceship would top that, don't you think? Jump tanks, tubes, numbered rooms, a maze... [ science fiction hell, really. ]
no subject
You sure you're comfortable with the angst factor? Where you know what happens to me in the future but I don't? I wouldn't want to be around just as another excuse for you to brood, hmm?
*and she puffs out a laughter* You sure know how to advertise a place.
no subject
I can't imagine you'll allow me to brood much, but we can deal with that when the time comes. I suppose the real question should be; are you comfortable with me knowing what happens to you in the future when you don't?
[ a small, almost casual shrug of his shoulders before he revisits that teasing tone. ] What can I say, I have a knack for it.
no subject
Mm, maybe not. *... Henry, Vicki was trying to ignore that part of things* No, probably not. But that would be on her, not you. Unless you play your cards very wrong.
And it should alleviate, rather than aggravate, the feeding problem, in such - relatively to what you're used to, at least - limited supply.
Hah. *beat. And then winces.* The place isn't very brightly lit, is it. *now that will be a pain in the ass. And probably other body parts.*
no subject
I didn't think so. Trust me, I plan to play my cards to the contrary. [ a thoughtful pause. ] It does simplify things in that regard, but there are other advantages as well.
[ hmmm. ] Portions of it likely are. It will present some difficultly, though. Aside from some of the more... active times, I'm told the ship itself is quite habitable. You know you'll always have my help if you need it.
ooc; and i'm crashing, so i'll reply when i wake up!
no subject
I hope you do. *small, tired liptwitch* Yes, it does. Much as I know we can refrain from killing each other, after, the urge was not enjoyable. *other things... were. Who'd have thought blood frenzy could be so much?*
*annd small nod* I know you would help. I will also make sure to 'pack' a good solid bright flashlight. Not a perfect solution, but... *better than being an invalid. He knows that part. And he also knows he won't be by her side every time she needs good night vision, they both know that. It's not the same as turning down the offer.*
ooc: Sleep tight, and aaaah I guess I know what I'll be re-reading now.
no subject
And, once we're there, we can find a more permanent solution. With such an advanced ship, there must be something. [ or more batteries for her flashlight, at the very least. ]
ooc; thanks! and i'm in the middle of rereading myself, haha.
no subject
*eyes. Narrowing. Can you see Vicki's enthusiasm over more eye doctors and procedures? Can you? All set up for disappointment...* Maybe.
ooc: That's always good, and I can move onto other of Tanya Huff's books, too. Because, delicious.
no subject
[ oh, vicki. henry gives her what he can only hope is a reassuring smile, but even then, he isn't sure it will help much. ] We won't know until we're there.
ooc; 'delicious' sums them up pretty much perfectly.
no subject
*slightly flared nostrils, but she nods (you just couldn't fall in love with an easy and uncomplicated woman, now, could you, Henry?)* I guess we won't.
ooc: It's how I think of them!
no subject
[ of course not. and, honestly, this is why he both loves and adores her. ] They won't do anything you don't want them to. [ which actually comes out as more of a threat on her behalf than anything else. he knows for a fact she isn't some damsel in distress, but vicki isn't the only one with a protective streak. ]
ooc; apt! and can i just say how excited i am, even if you're only considering apping? because i really, really am.
no subject
Mmm. Don't make promises you cannot possibly keep. *beat, and she relents into a slightly softer* Though I'm sure you'll do your best.
ooc: I'm pretty sure trying to take on another game is not the best of ideas. But... Vicki.
no subject
Everything in my power. [ a confirmation, but his frown doesn't fade in the slightest. ]
ooc; vicki is brilliant. if you decide not to app, you're always welcome to give me a nudge if you'd like to play together. no pressure!
no subject
short storysituation with Mike. Who'd have thunk?*I know. *sighs* I know. *attempt to ease some of that, and reaches to run her fingers over the knuckles of his hand* Hey, at least I didn't end up a blind vampire. That would have been... bad.
ooc: <3 thank you. I probably will, if only because. She does love her princeling, little though she can (usually) admit it.
no subject
[ before she can pull away, he turns his palm towards hers and slides his fingers against hers. ] Small favors. That certainly would have topped the situation off.
ooc; ahhh ♥♥♥
