Okay. So where are you going to app me?

... well, I kinda want to get away anyway, especially if, like you said, my family won't notice when I'm gone. I want adventures like the twins, you know? Yes, I've had some adventures, but ... not lots, and none like theirs. So don't be surprised about my acceptance!

N-no, don't tell me about the war, and older!me, and all that ... stuff. I like being twelve. Let me stay twelve.

[After dealing with dad and mom and uncle Luke, he's pretty sure that this really is his little brother.]

[ Anakin frowns. Aw, are his siblings here before him? Figures. ]

I thought you were on Yavin 4.

I was. Till this lady decided to drag me off it to play in a place called

mayfield_rpg. Most of the family is there actually.

[He frowns.]

You don't look happy to see me.

[ he smiles; it's faint and rueful. ]

I'm not unhappy. I just ... thought I'd get my own adventures.

But, ah, I guess the novelty of being somewhere new on my own would wear off pretty quickly anyway. What's this Mayfield place like?

[Jacen is seriously unnerved at the idea of his little brother being in some of the more horror based games by himself.]

There are some really bad places out there Anakin.

It's this weird town in some place called America. Mom and dad are there and so is uncle Luke. Our grandmother and grandfather are there too. Apparently it puts them into family groups and tries to force you to be what the town wants you to be. Other stuff happens too though, like someone let zombies loose a few times. It's all kind of a big mystery.

[shrug] We've been to some bad places, Jacen.

--how can the town force you to be something you're not? [ Confused frown. ] I guess, zombies, that's a thing you fight, but ... I don't get it.

[ wait he just registered the rest ]

... Grandpa's there?

These are places that try to change who you are. It's really hard to explain.

[He frowns.]

He was, but I think he was from before he went to the dark side.

That's... that's weird. I mean, I'm me -- how can a place change that?

She says she might make me fourteen -- she just wants to change my PB to some other kid -- but yeah, as long as it's still before ... stuff.

...that place looks really interesting. Oh wow. Do we get to read all those books from different universes?

Aw, that's older than me. Still. Yeah!

We do, but they're kind of all in really mixed up order. I mean, they're sort of organized, but it's all vague, kind of. I did find the travelogues! It's just frustrating to think I won't ever go to most of these places.

Well, I wouldn't know what kinda order to put other-universe books in anyway. The frame of reference might be totally different-- kriff, it's different even in our own galaxy, like Coruscant to Tatooine, right? So, I don't mind, I can figure that out.

And ... at least you get to know about these other places?

Yeah, but you'd think they'd have stuff for carbon-based oxygen breathers separate from the silicates and the hallucinogen-based beings, since y'know they're different experiences and all. And okay, most everything is written by and for carbon-based things, humans even, but I saw a book that had a whole chapter on keeping your tertiary tentacles exercised while in a pressure suit, and I don't even know what that species is.

I guess? Back home I'm always reading about places all over the galaxy, but there's still the idea that I'll get to them. Eventually. When I can talk my aunt and uncle around.
