Someone's a bit restless...
Woman! [The voice is a snarl, but not altogether threatening. He appears to be pacing in frustration, and his eyes are narrowed intensely.]
How long will you insist on keeping me in this place? I am tired of these games; did you not think I could handle myself there? Hmph! [He perches somewhere high, his spear leaning back against his shoulder. He growls a bit as he looks around, every muscle tense.]
Despite how you lord over this place, I refuse to bow to you; only arrogance would make you think you can contain a warrior of Shandora!

So she'll smile- at least that comes easier now, two years later.]
Honestly, can't people just let dead men sleep anymore?
[He may or may not catch a glint of mirth in her eyes. She really is glad to see him, even if for a brief moment.]

Robin. Nico Robin. In this place, death has little power. And I am restless, as any ghost might be! [His eyes gleam a bit as he nears her.] It has been some time.

Have you found a place you'd like to haunt?
[Not that many of them would be any better than mere headspace. Most worlds are small, enclosed somehow. Few afford the freedom to take to the sea and explore the distant horizons.]

I have not; I would not be satisfied by a meager existence as a ghost. [He grins at her, his sharp eyes surprisingly amused. And really, it's true; it would be hard to contain such a personality.]
What about you? Have you found a home? It seems we are destined to be robbed of such places, you and I... [It's a bit sad; they had indeed both lost their beloved homelands...]

[She's still very new, has more enemies than friends, Luffy's a child, and hanging out with a Marine.
Oh, and her Devil's Fruit Ability doesn't work, there.
Calgara's grin puts her at ease, though. Robin reaches out and traces her fingers over the blood red marks on his shoulder. It's warm, definitely not something ethereal.]
At least we have warm memories to keep us company.

It is as if memories are all that I have here. [His smile fades a bit; not all of his memories are pleasant, though the ones that are, he keeps close to his heart, and guards them as jealously as he had once guarded a certain golden bell. He does not move away when he feels her touch his arm, but looks at her hand calmly. It's soothing, in a strange sort of way. He normally did not care for human contact outside of his family and a few choice people...she'd been one such individual.]
Maybe we will be able to meet again one day, somewhere, even if we do not immediately know one another.

It would be an adventure.
[And she just loves adventures.]

M- maybe if you calm down, sh- she'll listen to you a little better? It's always best to talk things through, right?

[He regards the curious looking creature with some interest though.] You are not human nor Shandorian. I have heard stories of people like you, but I only thought them legend!
no subject
How could you tell?
[Beat]
Oh, right. [She laughs nervously.] That was a silly thing to say, wasn't it?
no subject
Do not be afraid; I do not have a desire to fight you, little girl. But I have not seen your kind around here before!
no subject
I haven't seen anyone as bushy as you before, either! Haa~ The world is so big. I hope someday my people won't be so afraid to come and experience it.
no subject
My people once feared those not from our island. From what I hear, that has changed in the four hundred years since I died. Perhaps it is for the best that we have opened our homes to those who need it.

Y- you're dead?
[Is it gross that she touched a ghost? Shirahoshi isn't sure, so she'll forestall panicking. For now.
Then she has a thought.]
D- do you know my mother?
[She'd totally not freak out about touching a dead person if its her mother.]
no subject
[He regards the mermaid for a moment, confused by her question.]
Your mother is dead? I do not know her.
no subject
S- someone wanted to start a war w- with the humans. Mm- mother wanted us to live in peace. So. They...
[She stops there. He can probably figure out the rest.]
no subject
I...understand your loss. Much is lost in war when the stakes are high. [How many of his people have died fighting the Skypieans? How many people suffered in four hundred years of warfare? His own children, grandchildren...]
no subject
The funny bushy... human? Do humans usually have wings? ...He looks distraught, too. Oh, no! Is it because of what she said?]
B-but it's turned out okay, now! I mean... P- please don't be upset!
[It's kind of impressive how tiny a voice can come out of so huge a person.]
