The keywords you used before were insulting and pointless. [They called you emo and a hipster. But I decided to go for the lyrics to "Don't Mess With Me".]

My enemy has conquered death. Kill his body and he can take another one. He can take me if that's his desire. He wants to take my sister, or one of her children. By studying under him I can find a way to prevent this. And sabotage his Empire.

There is no other way that doesn't end in possession and tragedy. But I can do this. I can save everyone, at whatever cost to myself. I've felt it.

[Ace is silent now, his face one of shock and surprise. He blinks. Tries to say something. Fails.]

[He smiles. There's something kind of... off about it, a weird distance, but it isn't cruel.]

Think of it as a mission only I can go on. The odds are against me. Maybe I'll die - maybe someone will have to kill me - but that's what I signed on for, and it's nothing new.
