[on plurk antics]

I fail to see anything amusing in the prospect. While I am willing to admit that I would very much like to meet Booth's doppleganger, the idea of being "vamped," as you colloquially put it, is completely unappealing.

Not to mention utterly ridiculous. As a woman of science, you ought to know better than to credence to such fantasies. To think that it is even possible for a soul to be taken away, let alone replaced by a demon, is preposterous. The idea of a soul is purely a religious and philosophical construct. It is impossible for a person to lose something they never possessed.

I would advise that you quit being ridiculous and return to work. You are only wasting both our time with this line of thought and inquiry.

Yes, you do. [...this is only a half-step above a Do Not/Do too argument.] A dry and incredibly weird soul, probably...but it's there.

[He would ask if Booth believes in the Easter Bunny, too, but large men with guns should not be provoked. That logic trumps all.]

I can see why you believe in them. It is one of the core beliefs of one of the three leading religions of today's day and age. It does not make your argument valid since there is no proof of an afterlife let alone that there is some celestial being that individualizes us.

Though modern day Christians are not the first to believe in such mythology. [Yes, he just called your religion a myth.] Ancient Greeks believed in the same thing, but then they also believed one of their deities pulled the sun on a chariot. We now know that as the Earth's rotation around the sun.

No, I believe in souls because they're real.

And that's not the point. The point is that your boss could be in danger.

She is not in danger. You will not hurt her, and you in polymeric canines will not hurt her. [He does not see the issue here.]
