On reserve at
onepassingnight and mun being really tentative about it all.
"I still need to catch up", huh? Yeah, you're way behind, even with all the spoilers you've been reading. Stop getting distracted by that super-whatever thing! [Supernatural.] Yeah, yeah. Plus, that extension isn't going to last forever, and I can't stay up here forever either.
And yeah, I know. You've been freaking out about having to watch that episode since spoilers first showed up on your dash. Have a little faith, mun, I'll kick his butt all the way to next year and get everyone out! Just get going on the app, okay? I'll take care of Tarrlok.
[You mean bastard scumbag?]
I like the way you think, sometimes.

Mercury calls it absolutely fair. Use everything you have at your disposal, avatar, every advantage. It's best to be strong. They don't need rules here anyway.
Much of the hail turns to water before it can hurt Korra; and the screen it provides is burned away in the same moment. Well, water still does well against fire, and Mercury conjures a stream of it from her hands, palms crossed in front of her.]

But there aren't many rules in D_M, and Korra is taking full advantage of that.
She gets knocked back by the stream of water, but quickly recovers and stomps hard, sending a block of rock up before launching it towards the other girl's legs. Tripping her up is still the intent here.]

She covers herself by sharp shards of ice sent straight for Korra; at the least, they'll hopefully take her attention while Mercury regains better footing.]

She'll heal that up later. Her hands move, calling the melted ice, and launches it forward as a water bullet.]
no subject
In a somewhat desperate move, she launches another set of icicles - this time coming from behind Korra.]
no subject
...okay, no it isn't. She does manage to stomp hard, and if Mercury doesn't move fast she's going to get launched into the air by a pillar of rock rising up from the ground below her, fast.]
no subject
Mercury rides the makeshift pillar into the air, keeping somewhat shaky balance until she's confident enough to leap down to the ground level again.]
That type of trick won't do you any good!
no subject
Neither's the ice!
[Is she cocky? Yes. Don't blame her, she hasn't been able to let loose like this in a long time.
This time, though, she goes on the offensive. She charges at her, jumping and twisting, swinging her foot out with a burst of fire.]

Dodge. Sweep. Pivot. Sidestep.
Then it's her turn. Each step of her defense, each blow of her offense, is calculated to work Korra towards a narrow space where Mercury will cut down her opponent's mobility and have the advantage.]
no subject
She doesn't notice that she's backing up against a wall.]

After all, she has endless experience. She reaches out with her senses, a bid to wrest control of the water from Korra.]
no subject
But screw that. She punches the ground as soon as the water slips from her, and the earth, quite literally, cracks, heading towards her opponent to knock her off balance.]
no subject
No. But the momentary lapse of focus is enough to drive her down to a crouch, shaken off her balance.]
