[The claws sunk in a little through his robes but Kouryu didn't mind. It was a friend. An animal. Innocent. He was free of judgment in this little creature's mind. That alone meant the world to Kouryu, who had no friends of his own other than Shuei.]

Na, do you want to see the temple grounds? There are trees out there I sometimes like to sit by. The shade is nice.

[Jeep slings his tail around the back of Angry's neck and folds his wings close to his body. When the boy speaks, he cheeps again and nods his head up and down.]

[He hurries to the tree on the grounds he most enjoys sitting by, nodding in approval at the surrounding area.]

I swept up all of the leaves here earlier.

[Jeep watches and then makes a small purring sound, rubbing his head against Angry's. It was so nice to see an Angry that wasn't so angry...

...and let him cuddle like this.]

[Kouryu giggles again, petting the dragon's head gently.]

I've never met anyone like you before... could I maybe give you a name?

Kyuu!

[Jeep licks a finger and then flies off Angry's shoulder, transforming into the jeep.]

[And Kouryu cries out and runs behind the tree.]

[Oh no! Jeep makes a sad honk at that. He just wanted to tell little Angry his name!]

...are you still...

Eh?

[He recognizes the writing on the back of the vehicle...]

...Jee... pu..?

Are you Jeep?

[So smart, little Angry!

POOF goes the jeep, and Jeep flies over to the blonde boy again. He chirps happily.]

...but if you already have a name... then...

[He saddens.]

You already have someone else... you have somewhere you belong, right?

[Oh Angry. He belongs with you and Mine and Loud and Hungry. Always.

He sits down on the boy's shoulders again and nuzzles Angry's face. No sadness, Angry. He'll be your pet.]

[He returns the nuzzle.]

So long as your master won't miss you... you can stay ass long as you want. I'll take care of you. I promise.

Kyuu!

[He likes that idea! Jeep looks around, impressed with the clean courtyard.]

Eh? You think I did a good job...?

Kyuu, kyuu!

[Excited nodding ahoy!]

Thanks, Jeep.

[He pets him.]

[Purrrrr~ ♥]

I wish you could stay here with me, Jeep. I doubt I would have to put up with the monks and their hypocritical nonsense so much if I had you around.

[He blinks at that and then cheeps a bit, baring his teeth and mane bristling. He makes a mock-snap at imaginary monks.]

[Kouryuu laughs gleefully, something he does very, very rarely.]

You're so great!

Kyuu!

[So happy that Angry is happy! It's like a completely different Angry.]

[Kouryuu smiles, then heads toward the temple to sit down on the sun-warmed wood of the porch near his master's door.]

Na, Jeep... do you have people in your life you care about? I wish you could tell me about your adventures.

[Jeep rolls up a bit more and purrs, enjoying the sunshine. When little!Angry speaks, the dragon squeaks happily and licks the boy's cheek.

He had four people he cared about, and he always had top watch over them. They were so silly, always getting into trouble.]

You've got someone, huh? Ahaha... that tickles...

[He pats him.]

You know...? I have two people special to me. Someone wise and kind to me. He doesn't judge me. And the other is tough and full of stubborn pride. He's like a brother to me in a way.

They're the kind of people you only meet once, you know? . . . they're precious to me.

[He smiles, looking down at the ground.]

I'm lucky... to have people like that. So, Jeep, I think when I grow up, I'm going to try to make sure I'm precious to someone, too.
