I know your thoughts, and I advise you to reconsider them. You can't repair what isn't broken. Your opinion to the contrary on that score is inconsequential.
And lest you further waste my time, let me remind you that I care not for Midgard. Your attempts to open me to the realm's wonders are futile. I fail to find myself impressed. Just as I cannot claim to appreciate your clumsy attempts to achieve reconciliation between myself and Thor. There are others who would find his company favorable; he has a veritable company of misbegotten mortals at his beck and call. Offer one of them up for the trial of dealing with his heavy-handed foolishness. I've no interest in revisiting ancient history.
As you seem to have forgotten who I am, I think perhaps it's time I reminded you.

Few less futures than there used to be, actually. An' this one is a future you don't find, it's one you make.
And the girlfriend? [He shrugged.] F'r me, it's an expendable dream. For you too, by the looks of it.

And will you? Struggle and sacrifice until you've won your future?
Hardly a dream of mine. I've no use for such entanglements.

Struggle an' sacrifice ain't quite enough on its own, natch. It takes persuasion, an' it takes planning, and every so often you gotta step on some folks's necks until they stop tryin' to step on yours. But you try to keep that to a minimum.
Like I said, then... but it's prob'ly more accurate that you don't have any use for one yet. [It's okay Loki, puberty will come for you SOMEDAY.]

The needs of the many... I believe that's how the phrase begins, is it not? But surely your allies disapprove of where you so occasionally place your feet.
[No it won't. :| ] Better to work alone than in the company of another, I assure you.

'The needs of the many outweigh the jackasses who try to take other people's stuff instead'a making or earning their own'? Love that phrase. An' you know, not really much disapproval; I don't believe in starting fights, I jus' believe in ending them thoroughly.
[Even if Volstagg has to staple a beard to your face one night while you're sleeping, it shall be done!] Because there's no-one else you can trust, huh?
no subject
Ah, yes. Mortals and their hatred of those who touch that which they believe belongs to them. I've heard such things before.
[That's what the magic's for. It keeps Volstagg's shenanigans outside his room.] Something like that, yes.
no subject
Yeah, because that's in no way a universal thing. It's not like you'd have a problem with someone 'borrowing' your
ridiculously-hornedhelmet or anythin', right?[Magic's force vs. the weight of Volstagg's... well, shall we say presence. You sure it's enough?] Damn shame, you know. Especially considerin' how much you trust people on a day-to-day basis. [Yes he's totally leading you, Loki, will you take the bait?]
no subject
Perhaps if I had in my possession something of value. Yet what have I that any would want?
[Possibly. Maybe. Loki hopes so.] I shouldn't think myself burdened by an overabundance of trust, Bishop. Surely I've done nothing to give you cause to think otherwise.
no subject
[Instead of answering, Bishop just reeeeached out for the helmet, his hand moving closer... closer...]
Except that you trust your brother to fall for your tricks, you trust the world to fall in line with your will, you trust Odin to focus on what's right with his kingdom instead of you, you trust that even in defeat there won't be anyone twistin' your head off... Much as you fail to see it, Loki, you're chock-full of trust.
no subject
[There is disapproval all over Loki's face at that action. And a narrowing of his eyes that suggests that maybe it should be reconsidered.]
You confuse simple knowledge for trust. I know Thor. I know the Allfather. I know what they'll do, what makes them act and what stays their hands. It isn't trust. It's never been trust.
no subject
Point made, huh? So there's just a bit of a knowing smile as Bishop let his hand fall.]
You trust that they'll act in line with your observations. You trust that they're not just gonna go 'Fuck it, Loki's not worth taking alive.' An' while you've been right in that so far, how much can you push before that stops bein' true?
You trust in your knowledge of your family, right? But it's so easy to forget that you don't know everything.
