That's one way of describing it, but there are many layers involved. You could look at it as a sordid reference, a cheap way of getting the moderators (assuming that they're interested in the canon in the first place) to overlook any flaws in the application. "Aw shit," they'd say, "It's a real life Detective Pony." On another level, to do this properly my mun would have to haul ass and find an actual copy of Pony Pals to desecrate for the occasion.
