Mundane, I know you are discouraged by the fact that you haven't seen anyone else from the squad but don't let that stop you.

Despite some apprehensions about putting my life in your hands I do find this increasingly more interesting than whatever awaited me leaving things as they were.

I will admit I want to see Lieutenant Black and the others again but I can't think of that right now.

These people from the RED and BLU organizations are interesting. Especially their team dynamics and how similar they are to Jericho. Granted unless we're taking alternate universes into account they are nearly all men.

Jericho is a military squad within the U.S Chaplain corps. We take part in covert occult warfare.

[Spy may notice the fact that she was not at all nervous about being talked to by a strange masked man.]

It is a United States military squad and we handle situations that are often called magic.

And zhis ees similar to what we do? Zhere ees not much magic involved, mostly just technology.

Similar in how the abilities and weaponry match. For instance Frank Delgado, a member of the team, uses a machine gun but also has flame-based skills.

[She decided not to mention his fire skills were due to a flame spirit, knowing that the magic part already had him confused.]

Given that we fight things that are not human I think it works well for him.

I am what they call a reality hacker.

[She decided to forgo any explanation that probably would of confused the man.]

Allow me demonstrate.

[Simone would type out something on the keypad on her arm, when she was done the only thing Spy would see is a blur. Well until Simone calls out from behind him.]

[He jumps, disappearing instantly into a red mist and backing away from the voice.]

Monsters would be the more accurate word yes.

[Having him disappear like that surprised her a little.]

I won't go into the details but I temporarily slowed time around me.

[He blinks and pops back into visibility, a few feet away.]

No actually, the suit allows me to control it with better accuracy but the effects come from very complicated mathematical equations only I can understand.

I fail to see you you can alter time wez mazh, but eef you say so I will not question eet. Perhaps zhe laborer would understand.

You are right, and I don't think he's going to give up on me.

He is just disappointed that no one else thought to bring us here.

Mundanes are funny like that, sometimes. Ya might see a whole bunch different people around here, or a talkin' animal or two, or even another one of you. It don't make a lick of sense, but there ain't much changin' it. Just got to make the best of it.

That is very interesting, the temporal properties of this place would be something worth studying.

Now that's a good idea if I ever heard one. No better time than now to talk to folks and learn about all the places you can't go, not unless you've got a time machine or ya live with some kind of magician.

I worked with magicians prior to my death and some would classify me as one.

[This is said plainly as if her dying didn't bother her much.]

No, not directly. Myself and three other team members died during our duty.

I'm sorry to hear that, though most people don't take the thought of death as well as you seem to have.

It's not something that could of been avoided. Somehow that creature we call the First Born had the ability to blow myself, Captain Jones and Lieutenant Black up with very little effort.

That ain't a pleasant way to go, either.

What kind of a creature is this 'First Born' fella?

It is an immensely powerful creature neither male nor female. Stories say that it was god's first creation. Neither good nor evil, both divine and hideous. Seeing the horribleness of his creation he locked it away in what we call the Pyxis. Until my team destroyed it a group of seven people would be sent to seal the breach. The breach is a door into the Pyxis that can only be opened with a mass sacrifice.

Closing it for the other groups of seven meant being trapped in the Pyxis where the First Born could do as it pleased. Even death wouldn't have been an escape, if you die in there you become whatever the First Born wants you to be.
