Eventually ending up at Merged Worlds

[He just stares for a few minutes. Being here makes him uncomfortable. There's too much open space and too many people that might ask questions. The possibility of running into a supervillain is also something that makes him just want to run and hide.

Eventually the young man sighs.]

I'm not going to be an Avenger. Or a Titan.

I'm not good enough. And my powers are useless on their own. [He sighs.]

Can I go back to the park now? What if the Green Goblin or someone like Mr. Freeze is around? Being out in the open like this isn't a good idea.

[He frowns.]

[He laughs at that.]

Sure. Whatever you say, pal.

[His smirk sharpens.]

I'm not Johnny. Don't have fire powers.

Heh. So what powers do you have? Running away doesn't count, by the way.

[street_rat_hero]

[He sighs.]

When I team up with someone, I can adapt to have different powers to help them based on what they can do.

[His eyebrows raise. He's interested.]

Yeah? So if I had powers, you'd be able to copy them?

[street_rat_hero]

[Eddie shrugs.]

Maybe. Usually only works on good guys. And doesn't always copy. Might get something that compliments or works well with yours instead.

[sixthanimorph]

[Is that amusement or just relief on his face?]

Good guys, huh? I probably don't qualify.

[street_rat_hero]

[That makes him tense.]

So you're one of the bad guys?

That's what some people would tell you. But I'm not on either side. I'm on my own side.

So just a different kind of bad guy.

And what are you gonna do about it? I don't see any moron in tights around for you to leech off of or whatever it is you do.

[street_rat_hero]

I can still fight. [Not well but he can.]

[sixthanimorph]

Yeah. And two seconds later you'd be lying in a pool of your own blood.

[street_rat_hero]

Done that already [He sighs.] You've got powers.

[sixthanimorph]

Yeah. [He nods, a grim quivering smile on his lips.] And I don't need someone else around to activate them either. You'd better run while you still can.

[street_rat_hero]

[He's just going to back away slowly instead of running.]

[sixthanimorph]

[Well. That was... easier than expected. Score one for him!] I don't wanna see you around here either, got it?

[street_rat_hero]

Don't worry. Not me you should worry about seeing.

[sixthanimorph]

Oh, I'm shaking. What're you gonna do, run off and get someone big and bad to fight for you?

[street_rat_hero]

With. Not for. There's a difference.

[sixthanimorph]

No there's not. You're running off because you're too weak to fight me on your own.

[street_rat_hero]

With means I'm fighting too. [He smiles a little.] Weak but smart.

If you're gonna fight me, then fight me right here. If not, get out of my face and don't bother me again. I've had it up to here with wannabe heroes.

[street_rat_hero]

[He shakes his head and starts walking away.]

[He watches until he's walked out of sight before he starts to morph. He doesn't want to be attacked while he's vulnerable.]

Well, not with that attitude you're not.

[He jumps.]

I umm...[And he has no idea what to say. Have a helpless look.]

Yup. You okay there kid?
