You've just got something against me being happy, don't you?
Between the weird places you send me, whatever it is you do to my love life, and all the other crap you pile on top of it all it seems like you're enjoy making me miserable.
Was glad to hear I get to sit out this chaos going on but then I find out one of my friends is dying. Great. Just great.
This party you seem to psyched about happening after the danger passes better be good.

[He smiles a bit.] Thanks. I hope you're right about me. This place...isn't easy. Friends vanishing and getting killed, no sunlight, monsters around, and things like waking up stuck to someone with unbreakable poisoned handcuffs and being turned into a little kid. It's a lot.

I wouldn't say if it weren't the truth, Victor. Mutants have a tough road just being mutants, but you've had to deal with all the shite being part of the X-Men brings on top of it.
I can sympathize, believe me. Place I'm at's much the same. Friends leaving, memories taken as the price of admission, being turned into god-knows-what at the whims of a "magical" castle. Takes a lot of inner strength to tough these places out.

[He nods.] Being around the X-Men has added on. Sometimes it helps and other times they screw us over.
Oh man, that place sounds like it sucks too. Are there at least other X-men around?

Of a sort, yeah. Shadowcat's around, but she's a fair bit younger than you or I have ever known her. An alternate universe, I think. There used to be a lot more, but they've all gone at different times. At one point, we had Hellion, Elixir, Wallflower, X-23, Mercury, Rockslide, Wolverine, and Cyclops. Even Professor Xavier stopped in for a while. Keep hoping some of my students'll drop in maybe, strange as it might sound, if for no other reason than to have a break from the boredom.

We've got a lot of those alternate universe people around too. From out universe its just me, Hellion, X-23, Rogue, Hope, and Magik [Still unhappy about that last one.] Colossus and Nightcrawler use to be around but they vanished along with some others. I'm hoping some of the others show up. Even Santo.

Sounds like quite a crew.
[And he has to laugh at "Even Santo." knowing their somewhat uncomfortable history as roommates and teammates.]
Having familiar faces around is always a bonus, even if they're being put through the same hell you are. Hell, probably especially because of that.

It is. Even though we're less a crew and more a brawl waiting to happen sometimes.
Yeah. Makes it a bit easier knowing you've got people you can count on going through the same stuff you are. I've been making some friends out there though that aren't part of our merry band of mutants.

I remember those days. Think it's just being a young mutant, honestly. You get a lot more tolerant as you get older.
That's always good. I mean, making peace with your teammates and classmates is all well and good, but finding friends among humans and whatever else you've got out there is better. Teach a little tolerance, you know?

I hope so.
It's a little weird meeting people who think we're all comic book characters but I've met some great people. Very few people seem to mind the green and spikes which is nice. Even ran into a guy who might be interested but given what usually happens, not keeping my hopes up.
